Tuner with no mods

My car is a manual trans. That said, is there really any benefit to a tuner without other mods? The biggest thing I have pushing me to do this is that eventually I want to change my 2.73 to 3.31 or 3.55 and I will need a tuner at that time. This lets me break the cost into manageable pieces. I would like to think there will be some benefit in the meantime though. For what it is worth, after much reading and research, I am leaning toward Steeda tunes.

I have no performance mods yet but the Steeda tune does make a noticeable difference. Granted I have an auto trans unlike you, but even aside from the firmer shift points I have better acceleration and throttle response with the tune.

If ur planing on modding the car allot then yes but if your just throwing on an exhaust and cold air intake you shouldn't need it

Superdrift - As I said - I want different gear. If Ford does it (assuming I can find a reasonable dealer) then I will not need a tuner. If I have someone else do it, I will need a tuner.
