How to tell the diff between borla axlebacks

Does anyone know how to tell the borla s-types from the touring? I'm thinking about buying some used but want to verify they are the s-types as advertised. Also how can I tell the difference between gt axlebacks and v6 axlebacks?

They will be labeled as such. Either Touring, S-Type, or ATAKs. On the off-brand dealers like on ebay, you just have to dig and you'll find where it lists it.

As for how to tell between V6 and V8, it should again be labelled. Otherwise, the V6 connector pipe is 2.25" and the V8 is 2.75".

I think I remember seeing some where it said s-type on the top of the tips.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the s-type can looks really similar to the roush axle backs, just a cylinder, where-as the touring looks more like a magnaflow axle back with the big bulky rectangle

The s types and touring are both rectangular and I don't see anywhere that labels what kind. The tips and muffler just say borla. I know the ATAKs say it on the muffler under borla

You can look through them as well. The touring is going to have baffles and more packing inside as they're a quieter muffler. The S-Type is a straight-through design .

I guess the only real way is to trust the seller and compare the sound of your car to the sound a similar borla exhaust makes on youtube

I have owned both touring and s type, they both look the same the only difference is from the sound.

MPT TUNE, Borla S-Type, Airaid Cai, Ford racing X pipe, Mac ceramic shorty headers, 2010 GT500 rims, 35% tint, Sr Springs, J&M phb, camber bolts, blacked out side markers, front and taillights.

Ask for their receipt if they bought it online. Hopefully they saved it. Or in the case of AM, they can look up previous orders.

ATAKs are the only ones that say the model. I would think they would print something to avoid this confusion. Makes buying used kind of difficult

Those look exactly like my Touring ones. I made the embarrassing claim that someone on this forum was selling something that looked like my Touring set but were not. Still feel horrible about my stupidity.
