Obviously, they got mad when I won the race.

Car fishtailed and hit an SUV, might've hit some dry ice or just a rough patch since it fishtailed going straight, was in a lefthand lane and the SUV was in the righthand lane and they were close enough to me that it nicked them and was all downhill from there.

I am extremely glad no airbags deployed or anything like that.

Wow,

I'm sure happy no one got injured. The damage looks bad but i'm sure it will be repaired and you will be fine.

Don't know. From the looks of it, it's going to be a quarter panel, fender, bumper for sure and then maybe a headlight, trunk lid and hood, depending if they're banged up.

The wheels look scratched up, but it appears to be plastidip so they'll likely be okay.

Not a total in my opinion, but I'm just basing that off a couple pictures.

Almost definitely not totaled out. I would guess $4-6k in damage.

Quick question for anyone that knows, if the V6 bumper and GT bumper are the same price can I have the shop replace it with a GT bumper?

depends on the shop, but you'll also need a gt grille and lower valence

Yes
As stated previously, you'll need the gt grille and valence. if you check ebay (where I got mine) you should be able to find a bumper for around 250 painted and shipped with lower valence

It'll look Janky and you may get road debris in there. I wouldn't recommend it, the grilles are only anywhere from $120+ depending on what you want, or if you can find a deal.

Insurance adjuster called today, car is not totaled, est. cost is $6300, repairs are front bumper, right headlight, right fender, both right wheels from scrapes, slight door damage, cutting quarter panel n welding new one, slight rear bumper damage, and allignment.

Also

How should I I about asking to fix the drivers side keying? Would it be appropriate to ask if it could be handled under the insurance? Or should I just ask how much straight out of pocket

I would imagine they would want a separate claim for the keying, but be careful. Two claims at once likely will raise your insurance rates.

But for the best answer, talk to your insurance company.

depends on your insurance they could be anal an have you open another claim if you want to go thru your insurance provider but doesnt hurt to ask for pricing out of pocket the actual shop could give you a discount to get it all done all at once

Don't mention a potential 2nd claim to your insurance. Any time damage is reported we are required to open a claim regardless of if you go through with it or not. I've worked for 2 major insurance carriers and it is pretty much standard practice. Get an estimate from your shop first then decide if having that 2nd claim and a rate increase is worth it. Claims stick to your record for 3 years before they fall off.

Also any claim, regardless of how many claims you have and if they are paid out, can affect your rates.

No need for a claim

Just ask the body shop guy if they can take care of the damage not covered and you will pay cash.
Not a check but cash just for the key damage.
hey will be using the paint anyway and I'm sure it would be no problem at all.

Why is this guy in the V6 forum? At least with the 6, the ******bag behind the wheel is optional and not standard...
