How does the 3.7L feel compared to older V6s?

Can you feel the 300hp it offers or does it feel like an 05-09 4.0 v6?

Tough to determine due to the gear ratio but once you change the gears to something in the 3.--'s I'm sure you can feel the extra gallop from the ponies

Yes it feels significantly stronger. And then when I got my 3.55 gears installed it was night and day.

I couldn't say but in my 14 6spd it feels as fast as my 12 wrx which was rated 265hp. I only have 2.73s though.

Other than the shift points, it feels almost identical to the older ~300HP V8. It's a big difference. Enough so that my son's getting a used V6 with 200HP instead of mine to drive as his first car. That he could manage. Mine, he'd wrap around a tree without realizing it. 100HP and VVT is a big difference, especially once you hit 3K rpm.

Go test drive one. It's the best way to tell the difference.

I had an 09 v6 before my 2014. Both automatics and i can tell a big difference in acceleration. The ride quality is a lot better too.

Used to have an 08 and with the sohc 200hp engine, it felt like a giant boat anchor. My wife's 2012 dodge avenger was quicker. Now with the 2014 3.7L, it is a lot quicker and with the 3.31s as well as a few other things, you can throw passengers back in their seats.
