Car surging

Drove home from work this morning, car was driving fine. Left the store and as I turned at the intersection the car started to surge, then the little light with traction control came on for about 15 seconds then light turned off and car was fine. 2014 mustang, no mods, 4,300 miles on car now. First time that has happened. Wasn't putting my foot in it just normal driving. Roads are fine, no rain out just a regular day, regular driving. I use 91 gas on regular basis, filled up car couple of days ago been driving it so I don't think that could be problem. Any ideas what's going on?

Happened when you were turning and the traction control light came on? Seems pretty straight forward to me, sounds like traction control kicked in, the system is quite invasive in these cars.

Didn't quite happen at the turn, I was already going straight when it happened. Is that normal? Is the surging normal when traction control kicks on?

yeah, damn near stops the car dead. Accidentally left it on when i was trying to do a burn out at the track once, but cant say i've ever had it happen on the street. Granted, if its cold out and your car has the stock like ... what are they 215's, you can expect to have little to no traction. It wouldnt take much to kick it in.

Sure thing, probably wouldnt be a bad idea to pop the hood and check electrical connections though; MAF, throttle body, etc.
