Antenna install.

I was going to install my new Steeda shorty aluminum antenna today but am not sure if i am missing a piece with it or am doing it wrong. When i removed the stock antenna (just unscrew it), it has a male screw on the bottom going into the female end in the base. the antenna i got just has a female end at the bottom so there is no way to attach it to the base. Nothing else came in the package with the antenna and Steeda is closed for tonight. Anyone have any suggestions. Pic below comparing stock (left) and steed (right).

Hmm that's weird. Certainly looks like a threaded piece is missing. Did you try to gently twist the stock one out with needle nose pliers?

Yep. Didn't try too hard because I don't want to break it.

It looks like the stock one comes apart. Use the existing base for the new one. Notice the difference in diameter in your pic? I went to their site and both the black and silver ones in the pictures are on the stock base. that has to be it

What you are seeing in the pic is just the antenna off the car. The base is still on the car and has to be used with the new antenna. The only problem is there is no way to connect the new antenna with the base. Also, the picture doesn't correctly show the sizes. The bottom of the antenna's are, in fact, the same diameter.

Here's what the stock antenna looks like if you pull it out further (aka, ruin it).

A car wash personnel was generous enough to f up my antenna by not unscrewing all the way and yanking it off. It's basically a bolt tucked under the rubber piece. So there's no way you can reuse that for the steeda antenna. My guess is that they forgot something or its defective.

Thank you for the pic. I guess they didn't send me a piece or something. Looks like I'll be contacting them tomorrow.

I have a shorty antenna that has a double male screw. Screws into the antenna then into the car. I think they forgot yours.

Antenna install.

Check the box it came in for a plastic envelope for a male adaptor piece.

Sorry the information that I gave you was for a Shorty Antenna purchased from American Muscle. At the Steeda site, you use the existing bottom for the top you purchased.

Dammit. I was so excited to get it put on. I guess I'll be contacting Steeda today.
