Emotional time with my car

So I traded in my 14 PP V6 for a used 14 premium GT (can't stand the look of new 15s). As much as excited I was to get a GT, giving up my v6 was really tough! Fawwk my eyes were watery just after I kissed her a final goodbye. I had babied her right from day 1. Let's just say I'm still trying to recover from this breakup lol

I didn't excessively mod my 3.7, all of my suspension and brake mods are still sitting in my garage. Good thing they can be used on 5.0, so it begins!!

For the GT I paid CAD $32,700 ($29K USD, 11k miles, glass roof, navigation, 19" wheels) and got CAD $21k (18.5k USD, 27K miles) for my trade.

I was thinking about putting a turbo on my v6, did my calculations and it came to around $7500 including shipping, currency exchange, and taxes at the border. Add to that $1500 for installation and tuning, another 2k for supporting mods. For this price I was better off getting a GT, since I would never get my $10-12k back if I decided to sell my v6. At least the GT will hold its value down the line.

Lol bro I heard new sixers are going for that price in US, specially now with year end rebates! There was a brand new v6 with PP at my dealership for mere 3.5k more.

Thanks man! This is the first automatic car that I've owned, let's see how I like it. I hope a good tune (and manual sport shifts) would make up for the fun element associated with a stick.

Thanks bro! I have had my share of dealing with mt 82, it had begun to crap on me more often than not. I even wonder if these are going to last 100K miles, people have been reporting troubles at mere 20k miles.

How many miles are you putting on your v6? I ask cuz if it's your DD and if you drive a lot, your trade in value is gonna take a really big hit, given that it will be considered as an older model when you trade in 7-8 months from now.

I test drove a 13 Gt automatic and you hit the nail on the head about needing a tune. The 5.0 automatic is in desperate need of a performance tune. I felt the factory shift points and the feel of it was poor compared to my tuned 3.7 and left me a bit disappointed in it. I'm confident with a performance tune it will transform it and have you falling in love. You will be like V6 who! Ha ha ha

For sure! I test drove a buddy's auto v6 (stock tune) a few months back just to get an idea how it responds to throttle. Let's just say it desperately needed a tune, it didn't feel like a 300 hp car. Pretty much the same for my GT.

I have been burning midnight oil on MEVO and SVT forum since yesterday to get an idea about top dogs in coyote tuning.. more so with automatic transmission. People are swearing by Mike Rousch from Mid Atlantic Performance, and of course VMP, AED, JPC & Lund. Interestingly not a single person has talked about/recommended MPT, seems they're more like V6 tuners.

So was your v6 Stang fully paid off, or did you have to add the difference on top of the price of the GT?

Thanks Bro I'm lucky I got 21 for it, given the number of miles it had. GT500s are super bad ***, I have poster of a shelby just above my bed :p

Ha I wish my girl would let me decorate the house with mustang stuff lol, had to practically beg her to get my v6. Anyways, do you have a list of mods already in mind for your GT?

Aye i do, I bought full suspension stuff, brake pads, rotors(gonna exchange em for gt size), brake lines etc to put on my V6 but I never really opened any of those boxes. So as soon as it warms up a bit in march/April, I'm hoping to instal control arms, brackets, panhard bar, lowering springs, camber bolts, gt500 spoiler, plastidip/powder coat my wheels, a good tune, drop in air filter, axlebacks (I already have gt500s from my v6), engine bay dress up.. etc lool

Ps: buy your girl a box of chocolate covered strawberries and a gift card for Sephora/MAC. It will help :p

I almost traded in my mustang today but walked at the last second, just couldn't come to terms with it. Now I just need to find a way to get rid of these damn 2.73s....
