Factory exhaust tip removal

I would like to install some black exhaust tips on my 2013, but it looks like the stock units are integral to the mufflers. I have found nothing helpful in a search here. Anyone have any info on how best to do this.

I was going to be a smartass and say just cut them off, but this is a much better idea ^^

That may be my only option and would not be real hard to pull them to paint/coat. My problem is that I had found some really nice rolled tips that would look great, but I may not have that option unless I get a welder involved.

I put rolled tips on my 06 and they looked so good I hated to let them go for my SLP Loudmouths. I remember paying $60 for a pair. I think they were actually a Ford part. Check it out.

Plastidipped mine black with glossifier. They have held up really well.

unless you have a buddy weld them I'd paint or Plasti-dip. The $ of a welder ($40 min) would be better spent on new mufflers.
