I have Ceramic BBK Longtubes and O/R x. I think you really start noticing it around 3k. That said once I switched to 93octane and retuned I have a lot of pull from lunch with 3.31s. I had shorties on my car for less than 4 hours. Didn't notice anything with them on. Also had the ability to have everything swapped off and on for free so I was able to try different setups.
I will say this... I am thinking about going to Catted X from bbk due to how loud it is with Flowmaster 60series. I would just swap out the x when going to the track. Also get more mpg (if you can keep your foot out of it).

Thanks fission I think I'm going to pull the trigger on that exact set up. Do you think it will be ridiculously load with Borla s-types and stock over axles. Really don't want to spend any more on the x pipe for cats but I also don't want to be obnoxiously load

Its not ridiculously loud. I just live in a really close neighborhood with a lot of young kids. I try not to take out it late unless I really need to.
I have been in front of many Officers ... etc you can keep it quiet shifting below 2k.

Its the cold starts where the sound really wakes up

S-types might be a close comparison in sound. Maybe a little louder. Probably less drone

Nice. And do they do emission testing where you live?

No I live in Florida. Pretty much can do whatever with exhaust. However it would totally fail emissions testing with o/r x. Catted x may have a chance to pass.

@JR. All depends on the city. Where I live we don't get emission tests (as far as I know.) I believe in SA they do emission testing.

What I would do. Is go ahead and buy them and stay with the stock ones, once inspection comes along go stock to pass inspection.

I may go the same route as fission but haven't decided 100%

Ya I was going to keep all the stock stuff anyways but I heard this install was fairly difficult and I don't want to have to start doing 2 "installs" a year

I went with shorties, all my emissions are legal and I don't have to worry about it.
I don't know about Texas but in Tennessee we have DUI Checkpoints, and that is were my friend was written up for his exhaust and handed a very large fine for other than OEM Cats, Just something to think about

Do you have to use the rear O2 sensors with LTS and O/R X or can you just tape them up and plug sensor holes

Honestly I don't think going with a catted mid pipe would change the sound dramatically. I had the catted x pipe w/ LTs & it was ridiculously loud! I would swap out the mufflers before swapping the mid pipe.

With off-road x the great o2s are removed. With catted they stay.... Try not to use extensions. A lot of people have had issues with extensions going bad.

O/Rs look like they have holes for o2 sensor. If you need to use o2 sensors how do you make them work without extensions?

O/r x doesn't utilize the rear o2s only the front. Rears would just throw a low catalyst code.

Ya called MPT and asked and they said you connect them to the x pipe but they turn them off. They said you actually need the extensions for the front o2s. So I guess I still need them.

I don't think think it would be too loud with s types since there not super loud to begin with. I had them paired with pype bombs & it was ridiculously loud! U can also add a pair of resonators if u feel it's too loud once there on.

Good thing is u can add them after u listen to it in person. I found my resonators at autozone so I didn't have to wait for them to ship!
