Removing Dash Chrome Trim?

Im trying to remove my dash chrome trim (Gauge trim and AC vents trim) does anyone have any idea how this might be done? I know how to remove the chrome around the gearbox all you have to do is put a fingernail under it and pry it off and the clips unclip. When i tried this with the gauge/ac trim they wouldnt budge. Any youtube videos/suggestions greatly appreciated.

p.s. i know it can be done because there are companies that change the chrome different colors

In my 07 there were two clips that you could pry a bit and the whole thing would come off, they were on the inside of the louver

Try running a small butter knife around the edges, often times thats just enough to work any sort of clips loose so you can get a better idea of whats going on.

The sure way of getting the pieces off without damaging the dash is to fully remove the dash panels. The driver side is easy but unfortunately to remove the center piece, you must first remove the passenger side airbag cover because the bolts holding aren't exposed.

The airbag cover alone is what has stopped me from doing this project.

It's not as hard as it seems. Disco the battery, wait about 10-15 minutes, drop the glove box all the way, remove the two airbag bolts. Voila. It's a bit confined and awkward, but only took me a few minutes.
