Ghost cams mpt

Going for some ghost cams this week. Just wanted to know if it puts stress on the engine or if it wears it out. Don't want to mess up my car just to have a Camed sound

Your causing the car to do something it wasn't meant too. Short answer is yes if you run it, over time parts will go bad. Will let someone more versed go into detail as to what parts will go bad

The only thing it could possibly hurt is the cats from running richer, "cam" is just more overlap tuned in down low. The sound of a "cam" is actually just poor combustion, it just happens to sound cool.

On my 5.0 however, the only thing that worries me is i feel like i hear my transmission rattle a lot if i dont have the clutch pushed in ... could be nothing, as several people run these tunes full time with no issues, but its just not a good sound to me. The Cammed thing was cool, but the novelty wore off pretty quick for me.

I can't speak for the cats as I removed mine about the time I got the ghost cam tune. I like it....except when I'm in a drive through it gets pretty aggrivating for everyone there lol. I typically just get out and go in now because it's just too loud of a lope with my exhaust set up.

If you get the Stage 2 (highest you can order with an automatic tranny), you'll have to get used to the bucking and have a firmer foot on the brake in traffic and backing up.

If you have a manual, you can get Stage 3, but you have to adjust your driving so you don't stall out.

Well I ordered mine and it only comes with one custom tune. I chose race tune. Any other tune you add they will charge you for. So make sure if you buy it just chose one tune and not fill out the rest

Their tunes are cheap enough you can just buy 2 and still be coming out ahead. Plus, back when i was buying tunes, i believe the more you bought the cheaper they got.

Yeah they give you a small discount if you buy 2 or 3 etc.

Ive had mine for about three weeks. I have the stage 2 for auto and love it. Ive stalled once, but other than that I Think the only thing that wears is the cams if run a lot.

The VVT is controlled by oil pressure, and the cams have their own oil pressure regulator to make the Ti-vct function. It would likely wear those components, being advanced / retarded really doesn't affect the cams at all in terms of "wear." That being said, its not something i would worry about.

tbh bro ive been runing ghost cams for about a year the only thing i would highly suggest is getting a new x pipe with no cats because if you get the more aggresive cams it can and wil melt the insides of your cats if u run it to much other then that i have not heard of anything wearing down because of it ! please correct me if im wrong but so far have not heard anything go bad because of this tune
