Just bought a 2014!

Hey guys I just bought a 2014 silver v6 Mustang!. Traded in my 06 GT but for it but I'm hoping I don't regret it. Anyways I just filled up the gas tank and it said 270 miles to E! I thought it being a v6 i would be able to drive it more than 270 miles to the tank! I filled up with 87 at chevron. Anyone have any ideas why the miles to the gallon may be low? It's only got 9k mi btw. Thanks guys

If it's been driven in the city that's about right, 2.73 gears are not great in stop and go traffic, if you do a long road trip on the highway your mileage per tank will go up tremendously, it just calculates your average mpg x 16 gallons... Roughly 21 in the city 27 on the highway for me

I get right around 300mi to a tank with mixed city and highway. But fillups have been about $25 and falling lately. I can swing $25 every two weeks without worrying, lol.

I have the same car & mine says the same thing every time I fill up. Only about $40 to fill up the tank though!

~255 a tank if it's city driving, much better if highway here. What you get with ghost cam and 3.73s lol

Mine said around that estimated when I got it. But I commute every day to SF with it, and get closer to 400 miles a tank (380 ish) on average.

I know that the "average MPG" factors in a zero when sitting at a light, so your calculated mpg will always be going down. Not sure if that impacts the estimated tank range at all.

I put all 5,000 miles on mine and it was at 27.8 mpg. After first oil change dealer reset mpg and I've put 200 miles on it averaging 25.6 mpg. I will admit I've been putting my foot in it a little more though. It feels great!

Averaging 25-26 with 4900 miles so far. 320-340 miles per fill up.

Just bought a 2014!

I'm at 10k now. I drive 55 miles each way to/from work. I reset my mpg thing every oil change. Some times it's stop and go traffic, some times I can open it up. I was averaging 27mpg with my 2.73 and 6mt. I added Roush AB at like 3k and added the Roush CAI at like 7k miles. I now get about 28.5mpg in the same conditions.

Stop and go for me is usually on a 20 mile stretch and its maybe 2nd or 3rd gear tops almost every afternoon. In the morning and on days when I'm lucky enough to not have afternoon traffic, I open it up.

I usually get 3 days per tank. I can go 4 but that is getting dangerously close to empty. So 350-450 miles between fill ups.

Yep, but your fuel leak is directly connected to your right foot and how much pressure you put on the thin pedal

Man where are you guys located getting 25-40 dollars a tank, I'm up in Nova Scotia Canada and it costs me 75 bucks a tank, recently it has gone down to 40-50 because of this whole price per barrel thing going on but I would kill to get 25 dollars per tank

Sorry for the late replies guys. I never even got notifications on your responses. But I just filled up again with about $45 and once again it said 270 miles til Empty. Which is weird because my 2006 GT would always say 330mi til E. Idk what it could be but I'm only avg 18.5 mpg. Should have just stuck to my 06 GT if this is the case haha

I find the miles to empty on mine changes based on how it was driven the last tank. Most of the time it gives me 300 on a fill up. But after driving it to Omaha and back, getting 32 MPG, the next time I filled up it gave me 360 miles to empty. Then after a tank of straight city driving it was back to 300 to empty. Mine does it's calculations based on the way it was driven the last tank.

Good to know. Thanks man, a buddy of mine said the same thing it all depends on how I drive. I just find it crazy that I only avg 18mpg with both city and fwy driving.

I honestly don't know it came like that on the car when I bought it already. I want to say it's about 20% all around from the looks of it.
