what's your spoiler of choice?

I really need to get one! on American muscle there's only like 4 spoiler choices, but I'm sure there's more out there for our years. I'm sort of liking the mmd duck tail spoiler on American muscle, but I'm not 100 percent sure if I do like the look... kinda reminds me of the late 90s early 2000s when we used to gel our hair and do the "flip" in the front... you know what I'm talking about... hahah

the gtcs spoiler is nice, but idk if i want a pedestal spoiler either. what are some that you guys have, along with any pics and any prices of install? thanks!

OEM Backup Camera Spoiler, bigger than the little lip but not as exaggerated as the Shelby GT500.

Although I did put the OEM Pedestal on my 2010

The Shelby and GT/CS spoiler (OEM paint scheme). Not a fan of those spoilers when completely painted in the aftermarket.

I prefer the RTR, but a bit of a moot point because it's literally never in stock on AM. Don't know if RTR went belly up or what.

You can find one normally on Ebay, there is a guy that says it is a GT 500 but is a replica of this one. Or $300 from Ford.

I'm with the middle of the road spoiler that I wound up with when I ordered the camera in the wing on my MCA Ed.

GT500 would be my choice.... That is if its just for looks. I'm not a huge believer of stock on appearance mods, i like them functional.

Keep in mind the spoiler you want may not match what came with the car as far as the bolt holes go.

A real GT500 spoiler is a functional spoiler. They have an adjustable gurney flap, and there are even wider aftermarket gurney flaps to create more down force. The replicas have a molded in looking gurney flap and usually the same color as the wing. Though I had mine painted black in that area to look like a gurney flap.

You may want to consider the roush spoiler as well, very movr for a low stance wrangle. I have the gt500 one myself, and think it looks nice and smooth. If you get the gt/cs spoiler go ahead and get the boss gt/cs rear diffuser too, the combo makes the car very muscley without looking big rear ended

This is exactly what I have. The 1-piece with the flap painted flat black. Didn't want to drill any holes. Didn't know aftermarket flaps were available, that's pretty cool.

Go with this one, best looking on a lowered car.

Jay that's a tough one and coming here isn't going to help much! We're all going to say go one direction or another! At the end of the day the cars yours, go with what you think is going to complement the vehicle the best, after all she's an extension of your personality just like any other hobbies or toys you have (I'm sure we have a few here, I love guitars, things that go "pew-pew", old oil and gas cans)

For what it's worth on a black Mustang I would say shoot for the MMD Ducktail Spoiler because it's really understated in my opinion. It's not an eye sore like what you'd see on a 1972 RS 911 Porsche or one of those molded duck bill trunks you'd see on a BMW and I think it complements the rear really nicely.

If you're on any of the product pages take a look at the Customer Submitted Images like this one below where you can narrow the field by color to get a better idea of how it's going to look on your V6 like the one below:

I hope this helps and if you don't have our MEVO Discount Code or if anyone in here is over 50 posts and doesn't have it shoot me a PM and I'll get you set up!

Alex

I do admit though I kinda like the spoilers that angle down over the 3rd brake light, like that stock MCA spoiler above. the duck tail is cool, but it's just straight up so I'm not 100 percent sure I like that look yet.

i went with the roush because it's pretty agressive and stands out more then the common gt500 spoiler

You... I like you.

I too dig the no spoiler look. I'd rather have an aggressive front lip spoiler than a trunk spoiler. I never liked the rear window diffusers either. The rear bumper diffusers always looked better. I guess I just don't like things on top of my car.

My mind changes weekly on this topic. That is the main reason I have not upgraded my spoiler yet. This week, I think I like the GT500 spoiler better.

Anytime Jay! Give it time, I literally go back and forth on a daily basis. It doesn't help that I'm sitting in the center of Mustang Parts Heaven anyway

Not bad! I think this ties the rear together really nicely! That's a wicked looking Mustang as well!

I like the Roush spoiler mine came with, it gives it a more unique look and looks aggressive. But I have to admit, I do miss the 05-09 rear spoiler.
