2013 vs 2014 mustang differences

So i was looking at these 2 year models and judging from the specs, there wasn't really a change to the Mustang between these 2 years. The weight is about the same. The fuel economy is about the same.

I do not notice anything different cosmetically. Would anyone be able to offer their opinion on this? Just wondering, as this may be helpful if someone wants to buy one of these eventually. Of course buying the 2013 would be cheaper if there are no differences.

The only difference between the two models are the gauges other than that I don't see any differences

The 2012 is the one where they added ambient lighting/my color for the premium models I believe.

I don't remember it being an option for the 2011. Other than that, yeah same.

My friend had a 10 gt premium and now has an 11 gt premium. They both had/have the ambient lighting my color stuff.

The only difference I have found between the '11 and '12 is the adjustable headrest on the '12. The '14 had some software upgrades from the '13 but that's all.

I think the front suspension control arms were upgraded in '14 to include heat shields to protect the hydrojoint from exhaust heat in addition to the easier to read font on the speedometer.

I also found on the 13 the white paint was Performance and on the 14 it was changed to Oxford.

I had a 2011 v6 Premium and it had the Ambient light and lighted door sills. I believe Ambient lighting was introduced as early as the 05-09 Mustangs. But not sure about the lighted sills.

I think its like that on the 13's also.

I used to have an 11 and it did not have one. I ended up getting the MMD one on AmericanMuscle. But deep down it never satisfied me because I liked the one on the 13-14 a lot better. As well as the other features such as HID headlights and the style of the tail lights. So it only made sense to upgrade vs paying a ton of money to make those changes on my 2011.

Maybe the later builds. Mine had to go in for a TSB to get the upgraded control arms.

The only option added for 2014 was the blackout option, black wheels, black mirrors, and black rear spoiler, other than that both identical

Yeah, maybe it was a running change? Just had one done on the left side (mine is a '13) and the squeaking and thumping over speed bumps seems gone. Wish they'd just gone ahead and done the right side too though...

The later build 14's have a dual path ecu like the BOSS's. Track Key is available for the manual GTs. The 13's and early 14's have a track cal tuner available.

Just a few tiny things. A few parts were fixed to deal with TSB issues. All trims have a cabin air filter (Some 2013 base V6s didn't have one installed) A couple of changes on the interior and trim options in a couple of packages. Most of the base model cars have the same electronics as the premium models, just components are missing or it has them disabled in the software. (some mods are a bit easier as a result)

Essentially the same.
