Need advice from 19" tire owners

Hi! Sorry for another tire thread. But I need to know from owners of 19"x8.5 stock rims whether this is the tire size I need to order:

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3" Tires 245/45R19

These tires are $482 a pair via eBay. The seller says that they will fit, but I'm not sure this is the best size. So, I want to be sure that I order the right tire. I just bought a set of GT rims for my sixer (17" rims).

Thanks folks!!

A 245 will fit on an 8.5" rim, and that tire is less than 1/2" shorter than the stock V6 size, so its not "too" off. Should be fine.

The California Special Mustang GT has the 19x8.5 inche wheel, and it does come with that size tire stock. The Brembo wheel is 19x 9 and comes with a 255 40 R19 stock. You could actually put 255 on the 8.5 inch wheel also.

Yeah I'm planning on 245/50 R18s on my GT/CS 18X8.5 wheels. You'd be fine with those tires

That seems a bit much for pilot sports. I can get super sports for that price online at tirerack. But those should fit just fine with the stock rim. If you have the GT upgrade then you can go a bit bigger.

Like was said, that is the size that comes on the GT with 19 inch option and the GT/CS.
After my 255/40 19's wore out I put 275/40 19's on mine, definitely fills in the wheel wells better.

Siber...with that minor diameter increase, did you bother making a speedometer correction?

I do have the tire size figured into the tune, but they are .1 off the stock 17 inch size and my speedo is right on what my GPS says it is when I have the stock tune in. With the 255's on the car was about 2 MPH off at 60MPH, it was going 58 MPH.

Would you have to do any modifications when putting on a wider 275 tire?? I'm not all that knowledgeable about this. Thanks!

None with the Performance package wheels. No rubbing at full lock or going over bumps with the stock suspension

What about this speedometer calibration?? I had the stock 17" wheels and changed them to the brembo track pack wheels. Would I need to recalibrate or add to my tune?

They are the same height as the Manual V6 tires so if you are tuned for the 255/40/19's on the Brembo wheels you will be a bit faster by the Speedo than the car is going.
BTW My car was tuned from Ford for the 17's and not the 19's.

Not sure which tuning company you're using, but I know when requesting tunes from Bama, there is a box to input tire size.

You can always change gear ratios and tire sizes on the tuner itself
