I'd recommend Mickey Thompsons or the Nittos over the sumitomo tires. Yes it will cause your speedo to be off, it'll need to be corrected with the tool, at the dealership or with a tune.

Those are 18's on your car now.
You will be going 60.9 at 60 if your speedo is set for the 235/50 18's but my car was set for the Stock 17's even though I had the Performance package so if yours is the same way it will be .07 of a MPH off at 60.

If I'll only be like 2mph off is it even worth having bama write a new tune?

If you have free tunes for life why not? I would just tell them to keep your tune as is and update the tire/ wheel size. If you don't have a tune currently I would just deal with the 2 mph difference although they will also cause the odometer to be slightly off I believe.

Just to add to what Siber has already given you.
The 275/40-19's have a diameter of approx. 27.7. See the tire size calculator at this site.
Tire Size Calculator
You can plug in your existing tire size to compare.
But make sure your speedometer is correct for the existing tires.

I'm certain the speedo is correct for my current wheels and tires because they are factory. I do have free tunes for life so I'll call bama after I get the new wheels

Both my 2010 and 2013 were off from the Factory, the 2010 had the same tires as yours that were 27.2" and the 13 were 27", when I put the 275/40/19's on my 13 the speedo was almost right on with the stock tune in. The stock tires for the Manual trans car are 27.6" and that is what my car was tuned for from Ford on the 13.
Tunes for life just have BAMA right a new tune for the tires.

You're making me think that I should go out and check the accuracy of my speedometer.
What do you think a good method would be? How about a GPS?
I know that the government requires speedometers on cars sold in the US to be accurate to within 2.5% of the actual speed of the car. At 60 mph that would be + or - 1.5 mph.

I checked mine with my GPS, 1 MPH off with the 255/40 19's on with the stock tune, right on the money after BAMA tuned it.

Looks good. I'm probably the only guy on here that doesn't like the look of lowered cars. I always think of lowriders and imports everytime I see a mustang lowered. Back in the day muscle cars used to have a nice rake to them.

Those wheels look great! Do the AM wheels need centering rings or do they fit right just like factory wheels?

Same bolt pattern they go right on.. The only thing is you have to break off this clip on each of the rotors. It's something ford does from the factory that isn't necessary for aftermarket wheels

Somewhere between 1.5 and 2. Will the SR performance ones do the job? What other add ons will be necessary with lowering? Also will the car have to be realigned?

SR springs will lower you about 1.5 all around. You'll need a panhard bar, preferably adjustable. Then either camber bolts or plates. Yes it will need an alignment.

Next question! Lol

I bought the MMD 551C Charcoal 20x8.5" front and 20x10" rear without rubber. Ordering those separately. I'm very satisfied with AM and look forward to more positive experiences! I like your choice in rim too!

Any particular reason you are going for the 19's instead of the 18's?

I went with the 19s personally because 18s look too small and 20s look too big imo.

But the downside to 19s is the tires for them are generally more expensive and harder to find in comparison to 18s or 20s.

Hey Will - Looks like the man beat me to it once again but he's absolutely right.

It's a great idea to pick up a Panhard Bar because it's not only going to keep your rear end in line but it will work hand in hand with the springs to get you better traction in many instances. Entering/Exiting a Corner (It'll keep the car on the road where it belongs!) Getting off the line, etc.

There's a slew of brands out there and if I were to do this all over again I would go with the SR Panhard Bar because it's basically a steal at that price!

The car wont need to be aligned immediately (I'll put my flame suit on for this as opinions vary) and I would put about 300 miles on it before doing so.

Joey brought up another great point as well and you may want to look into a set of Caster Camber Plates as whenever you lower a car it can cause premature tire wear as well not the best handling. They're definitely a must!

Let me know if you have any other questions on that...pending Joey getting to you first!!!

Apple - That's awesome! I'd love to see some pictures if you made a thread on them! (Sorry to threadjack guys!)

But the downside to 19s is the tires for them are generally more expensive and harder to find in comparison to 18s or 20s.

This! The only other downside in my opinion is that the ride quality will suffer slightly. It's not noticeable if you're running 100% but If you have a preexisting sports injury/bad back you'll feel it!

Are you talking about the 19" rims? Or the lowering?
What does, "running 100%" mean?
As far as the 19's are you assuming a lower aspect ratio?

This is exactly why I went with 19s also.

But more $$$ for tires does suck but IMO worth it.
