Thumbs down Rattles!

I'm a bit disappointing that rattles are already starting in my 4month old car. There's a buzzing behind me on the driver side, rattling gauge cluster and rattling near the driver side vent/mirror..Seem to be worst when the car is cold..Any advice on fixing the rattles?

Honestly? Your best bet is to trade it in for something that's not a Ford. Rattling is a trademark of the Ford brand on just about any car they make. It's worse when it is colder because the materials shrink ever so slightly. I am fairly certain Ford has never made a rattle-less car. Unless you're willing to cut up a bunch of strips of foam and have those stuck everywhere or try throwing dynamat at the problem, you're just going to have to live with it.

You could try pulling the Cluster Bezel off and drive around to see if you can pin point the sound. The bezel just pulls right out. Make sure to lower your steering wheel. The is also a little plastic part where your Mirror adjustment switch is that you can pop off to see if it is causing it.

I had an 08 Mustang where the chrome rings around the AC vent were loose and rattled. But i didn't care though because I was trading that POS in the first chance I got.

Mine's rattling in the exact same spots. Really annoying when I can hear it over my music blasting.

Sent from my Mustang.

I hear ya. Mine is a year old and I can't believe how fast rattles developed - in the same spots as the OP. It's the biggest disappointment I have with my car. It drives me nuts.

Dang, I feel lucky. I rent cars probably ~180 days a year and drive a lot of diff cars. That's how I started noticing that Fords were getting better about their build quality. I finally pulled the trigger, and bought a '12. With 60k on the clock at that. Not a single rattle. With so few miles on it, you might see if your dealership will do anything under warranty?

Welcome to the club. I also have the same annoying sounds. My friend's mustang which is 2012 has the same rattles too. My other friend's focus St has some other rattles. I started to think that it's just a tradition.

if my rattles were in a generic car I would be pissed but since it's a Mustang I tolerate them.

Take it back to the dealer, it should still be under warranty.
