How fast do our cars really go?

Just wondering if I took a stock 2014 3.7 and replaced the driveshaft and removed the limiter how fast would our cars top out at?

Assuming a stock configuration its going to top out ~150.
In order to be more specific, I would need to know the RWHP, and specific weight of your car with driver, fluids, etc. If you want to go faster you need to be lighter, make more HP, or reduce your drag coefficient. If you really want to get radical you could reduce the frontal area of your car but that might be a bit tricky

My 2012 PP hits 100 mph before hitting the limiter in 3rd gear. With 6 gears, I would think over 150 mph is possible.

Likely 155 - 160 MPH, flat out.

I can personally vouch that an MT82 (manual transmission), 2.73 geared car with P235/50R18 wheels with a Steeda CAI and tune will run 145 MPH in a standing mile and will break 150 in 4th gear @ 6,000 RPM while still pulling moderately.

I would suspect a full bolt on car would likely run 163 - 165 before hitting an aerodynamic wall. A GT (stock) with roughly 100 more HP would likely manage about 175 MPH before hitting the same wall.

I can only vouch for about 143 on automatic car when I had my 2.73s. After that on stock tires things got a little sketchy and I backed off. The car was still pulling but I'm not completely dumb lol

i own a stock 2011 convertible with no mods and 2.73 gears. i've never pushed her above 80 and if you live in nyc there's really no place that you can safely given the state of our roads.

the greatest thing i like doing in the morning on the way to work is mapping out the car matrix in front of me and hitting the pedal, making checker jump moves between the lanes as i slalom through traffic. the performance of this vehicle just never fails to bring a smile to my face.

i look at not knowing how fast i can go to being akin to having a large package in my pants. your know its there when you need it.

I live close to a wide open bypass that at the middle of night, it won't have any other cars on it for a few miles. One night I had a friend play the lookout role for me (just to be safe) a couple miles ahead so I could really open up my 3.7. Although I had an SCT canned tune in my previous 3.7 with 2.73 gears, it took a little bit but I did hit 160 in 4th.

When people ask me "why a v6 and not the real deal GT?", my last sentence gives a pretty good answer.

I had my 3.7 up to 145 mph and backed down but she was still pulling hard. On a closed private road this was done. Safety is always first

Same thing for my V6, sorry That was with 2.73s though. The 3.55s brought it down to right around 105.

Without speed governor, on German roads 150-155.

Well I have 3.15s but I'm running a 295/35on 18s. Knocks my
Ratio down a little I think. Not
Sure what it would make it out to be though.

I believe 5th goes up to 157mph. 6th gear was slightly less than 5th

It's not like top speed matters...
Theoretically you can do 300ish, wind resistance will kick in waaaayyy before that.
You need to concern yourself with questions like:
"Can ny suspension handle this?"
"Can I stop if/when I mess up?"
"Are my tires rated to go that fast?"

I read somewhere that with the 2.73 ratio in the automatic, the theoretical top speed is around 302 mph lol. That's in a vacuum. No wind resistance, no friction between the tires and ground, etc.
