New car gear ratio

I recently bought a 2014 Mustang Premium with the manual transmission. It had 2600 miles on it and it is a Certified Pre-owned. It doesn't have the Performance Package but I think it has 3.31 gears in it. I am running just a hair over 2k RPM's in 6th at 70 MPH. Is this what 3.31's normally run or the 2.73's? Great deal for me if it has the 3.31's but does it affect the warranty? Thanks!

New car gear ratio

The sticker inside your door will tell you, look for 2 letters. CC = 2.73 i believe. Not sure what the other ratios are but i know its in the owners manual.

GG = 3.31

Worse comes to worse you can always confirm by counting revolutions of the drive shaft when wheel turns one full turn.

My Mustang is an Automatic. It turns about 1700 Rs at 70MPH. I am pretty sure it is a 2:73

I believe all automatics were 2.73. Manuals without performance package were 3.15, and performance package was 3.31

Ok. I guess it changed in 2013. The 2012 V6s had slightly different options IIRC. Like I don't think the performance package was available for V6 automatics, or something like that. All I do know is that I've got my 3.73s now and I couldn't be happier.

I would have taken 3 anything instead of those god awful 2.73s I had lol. One of the biggest mistakes from ford was those 2.73s.........and the two piece DS.

my mt with 3.31 is just over 2k @ 70 mph.

side note 3rd is the monster gear great for passing on 2 lane blacktop...practice the tight shifter gates and enjoy the ride

edit: if it came with the 3.31 from factory there are no wtty issues (unless they tell you it's normal)

Thanks everyone. Could you order 2014 with 3.31 gears without it having the Performance Package?

You can also add your VIN on this page and it will tell you exactly what came on your car from the factory Use your VIN number to get Ford Window Sticker

I've got 4.10s on my GT... Makes a lively bottom end, but kills the top end.
