New 3.7 axleback available - Trident Motorsports

I was looking on ebay and noticed a new axleback exhaust being sold for our 3.7's made by a brand called Trident Motorsports, and it's selling for $329. It may be a good cheaper option for man people. It looks similar to the Roush and has a slip on tip that you clamp on separately. I think it may be a new company, I went to their website and it looks like it is about half built. Anyone know about them?

There was a link to a video review in the ebay listing:

Actually, I think they sound very similar to my Borla S-Type. Interesting. They sound pretty good!

That's what I thought. I wonder if they were able to eliminate drone like Borla seems to have done. There are some more videos of them on youtube testing them out with a laptop in the car etc. And it appears they are located in Dfw Texas (where I live). I may have to track them down and find out more.

Some good competition for those high priced Borla's.

Maybe. I'd be leery about a company like that though. I once bought a "custom" exhaust for my Altima from a small tuner shop only to find out when I got it that it was a generic RS Type branded cheap system. I think the eBay seller might be located in Plano not Trident. I live in NTX too and I've never heard of them. That finish looks real cheap too. Just saying for that price you could go with the MAC system too.

If you scroll down at the ebay page I believe they say they're located in Dallas.
I would be leery also and would likely visit them in person if I lived in the Dallas area.

They sound more like the Touring than the S Type. Those are too quiet.

Ive been seein these alot on ebay, good price! They sound extremely similar to my dynomax ultraflo catback, maybe not as deep. My catback was only $100 more than these too..

Regardless, someone needs to try these out and do a write-up for our curiosity!

I wouldn't consider 330 cheap by any means. And I wouldn't be as concerned with initial sound but quality. What kind of mufflers are they using? Will they blow out and sound like crap in 3-5 thousand miles. How are the welds? Will the crack in a year or two. What kind of steel? Will they rust?

I paid like 450 for my magnaflow streets on eBay brand new. And I know I've seen flow masters and roush axlebacks in the 4xxs. If it were me and I spent 20k+ on a car why cheap out over 100 dollars for mufflers. But that's just me.

I put them on my 2014 and the quality is excellent and sound great. Did not need to make any
modifications, they were a perfect fit! Better hurry, the price is fixing to go up by forty bucks..

Is that a common problem with after market exhaust? Those sounded pretty good from the video I watched.

I just put these on my car today and LOVE them. Very, VERY little drone at freeway speeds, won't hear it with loud music. Stock exhaust besides this.

Good to know, I usually have the stereo turned up when I'm driving. Be sure to let us know what you think of them in a couple thousand miles when they are "broken in".

The company that sold them to me sent me an email after I told them how good the quality and sound was. The price went up 50 bucks. They look and sound like Rousch mufflers.

If they are already raising prices on an unknown exhaust I'd rather just wait and buy something that is established already.

I think you need a midpipe swap to get good sound out of these. I think an x-pipe would be best.

Heard these on facebook with BBK LT, Catted X, 5.0 resonators... puts the Borlas to shame, new fad incoming.

It's because they aren't too loud, they go great with longtubes.

Roush sound amazing! After about 2-3 thousand miles they will get deeper and loose most of the raspy sound without adding glass packs.

I have Longtube headers, Catted X pipe, and 5.0 resonators. The camera sucks haha. It actually has some nice bass.
