Friday night well spent

So I ordered a little something from emblempros.com last week. Came in today; 7 day turnaround not bad for a custom order.

I thought I was prepared for the install, but it ended up being quite an ordeal. I started at about 6pm when there was still daylight out.

Popped off the rear decklid cover and got to work removing the pony emblem. Easiest way I found was to drill out several areas using my new step drill bits that I purchased for the puddle lamp install. Once the whole thing was drilled out I spent about an hour grinding down the edges so the emblem would lay flat (I'm sure my neighbors were thrilled with the dremel running on my patio for the better part of an hour).

The end result is worth it to me, though! Thumbs up to the guys at Emblem Pros, the part is very high quality and their communication was super fast.

This is pretty dope! I think you need some black stripes or a black spoiler to really bring it together though.

Getting the roof wrapped in gloss black and windows tinted 25%.

Also RTR license plate surround and Boss rear diffuser eventually.

I thought so too, but double and triple checked. It's not. If it was I would have pulled it off, lol. I think I'm standing just off center in the pic and the car is also at an angle in the garage made for a weird photo trick.

I also like the stock one but that came out really well. Definitely sets you apart from all the other mustangs. How does it stick, 3m tape?

Yup, lots of 3m and adhesion promoter. I was skeptical at first, but that thing isn't going anywhere.

My factory one was dirty. When I took it apart I realized it wasn't painted but film. The stripes are film with a clear overlay. There was dirt inside the film so the white had turned brown. I was going to replace it, but a new one is around $100. This was $65 and a few hours of work.

I did break several of the clips that hold the deck lid on, so come summer I'm going to grind down the rest of the clip and put 3m there as well. It's hard to explain without seeing it. But the whole lis is still held on with screws and about half the clips.

Yeah it does look crooked bro, in your PIC that you show the faux cap in your hand, the bones aren't centred to the "o" and "r" of Ford. It doesn't take much to be noticeable but its there, it looks like the skull and crossbones needs to rotate a tad to the left from the bottom. I think it looks good though.

It's unique. I also like the tail lights. Are the license plate lights blue or do they just look that way on camera?

Lol, I'm not worried about it. It's not crooked. I'm not sure why it looks that way in the pics, but it's not. Only other thought is it's an actual emblem and has raised plastic edges as opposed to being a flat decal.

License plate lights are bluish white. I ordered some different ones and listed those for sale here, which sold today. The new ones are much whiter and match the puddle lamps and interior lights. Got one for the trunk as well.

NICE!

I like it a lot, both personally and the fact that you went through all that to make it your own.

Thanks for sharing!
