Airaid Intake Tube

Has anyone just replaced their stock intake tube with the Airaid? Does it have any affect on the sound heard in the cabin? I have a sound tube from a V8 and wonder if this would add better sound? Really just looking to improve sound. Should I wait and do full CAI?

You've got a factory CAI, so you won't see much in the way of gains from an aftermarket intake. The airaid tube should give you a better sound as it deletes the silencer that's attached to the factory intake tube. You may also be able to mod it to use the GT sound tube, but it may not be needed.

Thanks. Already have the modded GT sound tube (from VIG). Hoping adding the air intake tube will produce a little more sound.

I have done this and also added a drop in AFE air filter. The sound increase is negligible. That said I am very happy with the way it cleans up the look under the hood. Theoretically from a performance standpoint it reduces wind turbulence creating a more efficient flow of air into the throttle body.

Not sure if the filter or the combination of filter and airaid tube was the reason however there is a better throttle response since the install.

Very little sound difference. Some, but very little. That said I have one for a V6 for sale if you want it

I installed an Airaid (scored used) and am real happy with the sound. As mentioned it's not huge but one of those small quality improvement. Remember it's for sound alone and a used one is a good buy. It adds growl throughout the rpm range and sometimes you even get a bit of whistle around 2k under acceleration

go for it!
