Question about wheel swap

Unfortunately, i got a nail in my tire this weekend that is unrepairable. A replacement for the 255/40/19 tire is $325. Now my choice was, to replace the wheels with the Brembo rims off a GT as I really like these.

I am picking up a set of 4 with 75% tire tread left. They are 225/40/19. Should I be aware of any issues or should this be an easy swap?

I figure instead of replacing just 1 tire, I can dish out a couple more hundred dollars and just replace all the wheels with ones that I want.

It's as easy as taking your old rims off and putting the new ones on.

And the tires on the Brembo package rims are also 255/40/19s.

Thank you! Maybe it was a typo in their listing. Even better

Got a set off Craigslist that came with the wheel sensors. Just took off the stock 17" wheels and put the 19" Brembo on with no setting the tire sensors.

If the sensors are still there, you can get the TPMS synch tool from AM, it's kinda pricey $125 if I remember? But it'll synch the new TPMS sensors to your car.

Maybe because of the year (2014) I didn't have to synch the new TMPS sensors.

Maybe I will get lucky then. The Brembo wheels are from a 2014 GT. And since the tire sizes will be the same, one could only hope....

Question about wheel swap

I've had 3 different sets of wheels on my Mustang. The OEM V6 17s, the OEM GT 18s and the OEM GT premium 19s. All of which came with the TPMS from the respective sellers' cars.

I haven't had to use a sync tool on any of them because they automatically synced. The OEM 18s took a few miles to "wake up" because they go into a dormant stage to save the battery in the TPMS if they're not used for a while. Just drive a few miles and they'll wake up.

If your new rims come with the TPMS sensors in them then they'll automatically sync with your car.

Thanks VIG. Glad I am getting OEM wheels. The person left the OEM sensors in so it's sounding like I won't have any issues.

just a warning...depending on where you are if the Brembos have the summer only tires on them ya don't want to run them when it's cold.

Yea I noticed. D:

I got the summer tires that came with the Performance package and I am airing them up every week. The rest of the tires besides the 1 with the nail are fine but I found they slowly get low in a few days with the cold air.

I was cautioning more about lack of grip. North of the Mason/Dixon (below 30 deg) they get real hard and real slick. I scored a set of take-off 19's with the Neros that I run on my PP Stang. fwiw thats in CT

Not sure about your area but I work at Ntb and people come get a free air check and if the light in the car doesn't go off we reset their tpms for free. You could go ask a local tire place

Thanks Eric. I do know of an NTB in San Antonio that I used to always go to so I could try that if all else fails.
