Flat badges on a round car

I bought these badges because I always liked them on the pony package Mustangs but mine is an MCA.

They are an inch shorter than OEM. But they are metal and really nice. I have been thinking about maybe putting them on the roof pillar behind the doors instead of on the fender. However neither spot is actually flat. These badges don't seem to want to bend any either. Is there some trick to getting them to fit properly on my car? Or am I going to end up eating the $23 I spent for them? If worse comes to worse I could always just put one of them on the dash above my glove compartment I guess.

Only thing i could think of is getting them hot and see if they flex/bend. Other then that, i dont know of a way to get them on a round surface.

I was hoping you would weigh in on this. You seem to be extremely resourceful. That being said...I wonder how they do it with the OEM badges. Those are flat as well. I do know the OEM ones are "pinned" in rather than just adhesive. But they still have to be flush with the surface.

Speaking of this, I am about to buy 2 of them for $13. Will they mount onto the side fender like Kevins? or are these not the correct ones?

I think these are plastic. I stayed away from the plastic ones as I was afraid they would fade over time. But now I am starting to think plastic would be better because they would be somewhat pliable. There is no flat surface on my car anywhere.

I got my badges from CJ Pony Parts for like $60 or so. They are flat and the fender is slightly curved. All I used was 3M tape to secure the badge. 3M is strong enough that it allow the badge to flex slightly so it goes over the fender. I would not recommend testing this on the pillar though. lol

The OEM badges that Ford puts on has 2 pins to allow for perfect alignment on the fenders as well as 3M tape. I cut off the pins on mine as my fenders did not have holes for them. The 3M tape holds them on very well. I had similar ones on my old 08 Mustang with only 3M tape. Safe to say when I removed them a year later, it was still very secure.

I did exactly this to my car too. The badges have been on for over two years with just the 3M tape... no problems.

A guy on another forum suggested I support them on two blocks of wood with a couple of rags for insulation and tap them with a rubber mallet. It worked great. I was able to keep tapping on one side then the other until the fit was absolutely perfect.

I am going to buy another pair of these and put one on the strip above my glove compartment, and the other on my dedicated beer fridge in my mancave.

What's with the extra badges? Anybody with performance white want to trade their clean fenders for mine that have the pony package emblem?

I got these and plastidipped them. I think from a different seller. I like them they are just too small for me. I will most likely end up getting bigger ones or 3.7 badges.
