Parking brake cable

Has anyone ever replaced a parking brake cable on a 11-14 mustang? Mine snapped the other day and my friends and I are going to try and tackle the job.

Cool. Just an FYI if you have the stock LCAs. The parking brake is routed through a hole in them, with a fabric sleeve to keep the cable from getting chafed by rubbing on the edge of the hole. Check that to make sure it isn't getting cut by the edge. When I replaced my LCAs, the sleeve was almost cut all the way through.

I believe the cable coms with a sleeve if i know what you're talking about. Maybe i should take it to the shop??

If I remember correctly, nearly the whole length of the cable is in a rubber/plastic sleeve, but the part that goes through the LCA has an additional short fabric sleeve clamped to it (that's maybe 5" long). Not surprisingly, suspension travel causes the sharp edge of the opening in the stock LCA to saw through the fabric sleeve...looked like a dumb design to me.

I put in BMR boxed tubular LCAs, routed the cable of the top, and zip-tied in the middle...no problems and better than the stock arrangement, IMHO.
