Performance Mods for DD

Good day! I wanted to get some advice on what, if any, performance Mods you would recommend for a daily driver that I don't intend on taking to the track. Or, since I have no intention of going to the track, should I just stick with appearance mods and comfort mods? Thank you in advance.

To be honest, appearence would be first if you have no intentions on racing. But if you did want performance mods, a tune, suspension, wheels, and exhaust would be best. These cars already have a good intake system so a CAI would net 0 gains without going FI. Maybe someone from AM will be in here soon to suggest some stuff. Also, they have a website discount code they can give you so when you make purchases from AmericanMuscle, it would help a little.

Do you have any pictures of your car? Is your car bone stock or did it come with anything from the dealer?

Thanks for replying. I purchased my car as base as it could come and have made some small upgrades. Created my own version of the California special grille, side stripes, and added a sync system, but other than that it is still base. I will try and post pics later when I get home.

I gotta go with Kevin on this. If you don't plan on racing any the first think I would do is appearance mods and some axle backs for sound. Although if you would like to have more fun driving it even though you won't take it to the strip you could go headers and a tune.

They made Good points. Go Exhaust and Wheels first. Exhaust can go from Simple to Full setup. Simple being just Cat Back mufflers, Full being Headers, Mid pipe and Exhaust pipe and Mufflers. Both take Time and Research on choices.

I DD my base, so far I've done Roush AB and CAI. I would say aside from those(I like my cai even though I know it does nothing but sound good) , do wheels/tires and appearance.

Taking the gears to 3.31 would be a nice quality of life change that would make 6th gear less useless.

Stock suspension height IMO is about perfect for clearing parking barriers and curbs, I would save that for last.

Wow, $550 for those is amazing! The two biggest mods I want right now are leather seats and wheels/tires, but both are just so expensive. I guess I just need to keep looking on eBay and Craigs list. I've always wanted a COI, but just can't justify paying $300 for something that just changes the sound. And yes, gears are on my list of desires. For all I want to spend on my car, I'm wondering why I didn't just buy a more expensive model. But where's the fun in that right?

For rear suspension, you can get a lot of bang for you buck replacing the stock lower control arms with some aftermarket ones having polyurethane bushings. I have the BMR units and they definitely reduced wheel hop with only slight increases in NVH. I agree that the stock ride height is perfect for DD use; any lower and I would be scraping curbstones all day long.

Regarding gears, I have a set of used 3.31s that I don't need...give me a holler if interested.

I found mine on Craigslist. Then I sold my stock wheels and tires to a buddy who owns a junkyard for 175.00! So for 375.00, I got a like new set of tires and wheels! Keep shopping, those guys with the GT's dump there stock rims ALL the time!!

Also I think paying for at least a premium model is WORTH it!
