Pics of Tinted Tails, Markers, Etc.

So I'm debating on tinting the tails, side markers, 3rd brake light, etc. on my 2012 Mustang. Or I may do a combo of some of those and not all. I want to see some photos of cars with these tints applied to see if I truly want to do it. I have a black car, so black is preferred but not required. Here's my car as it sits now.

Its not paint and is actually very useful. Nice easy way to change stuff up without being permanent. Depending on how heavy you go you could see through when lights are on

Those are all the ones that I posted pics of. Bought all the film from AM. I love the look. Good quality as well.

tinted brakes and 3rd brake

right before i did the 3rd brake light, you can see how much brighter the 3rd is. the brake lights are admittedly blinding on this car lol those LED's!

before shot, you can see how white the taillgihts are

What would a ballpark cost be for a shop to tint my tails, headlights, and markers?

I'm kind of reluctant to do it myself because I want it to look perfect.

I say don't bring it somewhere to add these vinyls dude. it's so easy. you literally just wet them, place them on, and let it dry. hardly any bubbles, and if there are, squeegee them out. don't bring it somewhere.. def do it yourself. you'll get it perfect don't worry.

Please don't pay someone to install this kind of tint. It is literally a sticker, make sure to put soapy water and you can move it around and even take it off and relocate it to get it to perfection. It is extremely simple. Also I know everyone wil disagree but AM chargers a lot for just tint. It is literally a sticker. I got all of my tint (headlights, side markets, and brake light) on eBay for 20$ total and have never had a problem. Great quality. Not sure exactly how much but if you go through AM it will be 50$+. Yes I know AM has great customer service. But save yourself some money and also do it yourself, it's easy.

I don't disagree at all on this type of product. On things like this you are basically paying more for a place to put their name on a package

Do I actually need a heat gun?

I was looking at buying this for my markers and 3rd brake light, unless anyone has other ideas.

You don't need a heat gun. These are small decals, if you were to put like a whole hood one or stripes then a heat gun would be good but not for these. Just make sure you do it on a decent day. It does not need to be 80 and sunny but also make sure it's not all cold and rainy or else they aren't going to stick properly. I live in San Marcos where it is always rainy and cloudy and had no problem putting them on. A heat gun would just be making this little project expensive.

Thanks guys! I'm going to pull the trigger tonight just off of eBay. For around $30, I can't go wrong. Plus if I don't like the way it looks, I can always peel it off and not be at a huge $$$ loss.

I'll order and post pics in a few days when it's on!

Agreed. I used clear plastidip to frost the windows that are on the doors to my man cave.

A little late to the party but here ya go.

I think it would look even better with the reverse lights tinted on a black mustang.

So my vinyl tints came in. I tinted my 3rd brake light and side markers on both the front and rear. I also bought the headlight and taillight film, but I ended up messing up the headlight one pretty bad and ruined the tint. I decided not to try the tail light tint due to this.

Here's some pics. It's not a perfect job because my trimming is a little jagged, but from a distance it looks perfect. You can only really tell it's not perfect if you get within 4-5 inches of it.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. I'm just hoping it stays adhered to the lights. I may end up having a professional shop do the tails and headlights, still.

I will! I'm going to call around to some shops today!

Update****
My third brake light tint bubbled up really bad a day later. I ended up peeling it off. My guess is the 45 degree weather and unexpected rain the next day killed it :-/
