I took mine off and was pretty easy. Saw a technique of using index cards around the rim/tire, and worked pretty well for me.

took about 1.5 hours, but i took the dip all off. i had to use like a toothpick to get inside the crevices between the bumper and the chrome trim, and then the chrome trim and the black grille. was a pain but i think i got it all. no more plastidip for me lol was contemplating doing the pony, but forget that. i'll try plasti dip for other things..such as plasti dipping the end of my keys to my house! that'll be cool. hahah...and perhaps plasti dipping one of my old guitars. i think that would look sick as a nice matte black.

guys, gimmie some more non-car related ideas to plastidip! i've got like, 1/4 of a can and then another full can left. let's get my 12 bucks worth. hahaha

You could use it for what it was originally designed for, such as plier handles and the like.

Plastidip the other can of plastidip so you don't have to use the second can. Lol

No wonder you had trouble, Chrome Grille Trim is not on the list of uses. LOL

Here's my fully plasti dipped grille. 10k+ miles of daily driving on it and it still looks good as new. Its a cheap alternative to the CDC grille.

I didnt take 30 mins inbetween each coat since the weather when i did them was very hot. I left the wheels on, just covered the back with a bag, also used index cards around the rim to avoid getting dip on the tire. Not needed but it saves you time on cleaning them and can spray without too much precaution

Liquid lighter fluid. So gentle you can even clean fingerprints of photographs with it.
