Overheat due to outside temp? LEDs produce very little heat, from my understanding.

No weather it's not a fact here for some reason they just overheat in fact I notice it because I pulled one out and connected to 12v and after a minute couldn't hold it with my hands and it started flickering you can tell on pic how big the heat sink is and still can't handle it

Is it the Raxioms you're referring to? If so, maybe that's the issue and they need to fix that. They shouldn't get that hot.

You should be able to know within the first 5-10 min it gets hot right away and start flickering I have 2 and only one was doing it so I didn't want to take any chances so I made my own

Not sure if mine have gotten hot, but they are still working with no flicker.

Just to chime in here, when my Raxiom's flickered they usually did so immediately after the lights came on and continued to do so. Before I replaced them, the temps in my garage would range from 30-60 degrees F, so probably not a heat issue for some of them at least.

Raxiom License Plate Kit Warning

I got sick of them flickering. Idk what's wrong with them. So I currently have an order placed with diode dynamics for they're license plate lights and a set of 6000k oem replacement headlight bulbs. DS3 btw is the size. Took me forever to find that online

I'm guessing cheap offshore manufacturing with poor quality control.

I've had these ones for almost 8 months and they are still working like new. No flicker from them what so ever. I'm also running all the pilot leds in my dome lights and trunk. All of them seem to be a well made product because they have not gone out yet or flicker.

Same as above, raxiom is more bluish as you can see but the diode dynamics I can honestly say is twice as bright, but an absolute pure white like advertised. Very pleased. I'll let you guys know how they do later.

Blue tint from what should be white LEDs is a sign of cheap manufacture...they use a blue LED and add a phosphor in the plastic casing that's supposed to produce white light when excited by the blue wavelengths from the actual semiconductor device.

I don't see the stage 2 ones on the site. Never mind I got it working. It wouldn't let me select led option at first.

So diode dynamics are the way to go? Thanks for the comparison pic btw!

AM has great customer service, but it's not worth going through a pair of lights a month with Raxiom in this case.
