Raxiom License Plate Kit Warning

Hey guys, just wanted to throw up a quick post as a word of caution. My third pair of Raxiom license plate bulbs have gone out, this time in less than 2 months. AM has been great and replaced them twice, but this is getting ridiculous. May just ask for a refund if they'll do that, after 3 sets flickering and then going dim then finally out on me, I would rather not get another replacement.
Some have had no problems with them, but just a word of warning if you're gonna get them. Like I said, they were great with replacing them though.

I had cheap ebay bulbs in mine that burned out twice in a week. Since I've gone Raxiom a month ago, they are still running strong.

Check your light housings and make sure they aren't dirty or allowing moisture in. I had to spend a good hour cleaning mine and fixing the seal because water was creeping in and the contacts were rusty looking. That, on top of cheap bulbs, is why I'm assuming they kept burning out.

Checked 'em, cleaned 'em, even re-sealed them. After the 3rd time this happened I spent about 2 hours doing everything. My buddy does lighting and wiring and he said it's the bulbs.

That sucks. On the plus side, it's American Muscle so they stand by their product and I wonder if they'll just keep sending them forever? Or you can buy a cheap ebay pack of 20 for the same price and switch them a ton lol.

Something in your wiring has to be shorting them out, though. Or the bulbs are just that low quality for that production batch.

I think it may just be bad luck. I will probably ask if they can just refund my purchase price ( $27.xx) or something like that to save us both the hassle of shipping back and forth. I will just put the stocks back in .
Yes it's great that they stand by their products which I love and gives me complete confidence with them always.

Hey Grabber,

Sorry to hear that you are still having trouble with these, I am honestly very surprised as I run them personally with no issues along with hundreds of other customers and I hate to see this happening to you!

Grabber,

I honestly think that luck may not be on your side with this one but as you stated, we always stand by our product and will always go above and beyond to take care of our customers.

Shoot me over a PM with your order #, not only will I refund you in full for the original purchase price, I will also get a new set of bulbs sent out so you have them, on me.

Hope this helps and looking forward to hearing from you soon.

-Will

Hey Will,
Thanks a lot. I'm thinking it's just horrible luck on my part. I've tried everything. I appreciate you sending another pair over too, I do love the look of them at night. So much better than stock bulbs. Hopefully this time will be a winner. Fingers crossed.
I'm having trouble logging on to my AM account though. It says the site has changed and I need to follow the link e-mailed to me to create a new password. Problem is, the link isn't being e-mailed to me. Done it about ten times, clicked re-send, checked spam etc. So I'm not sure how to get onto my account. Site looks great though

I ordered these a while back and am experiencing a bit of the same thing. One of the lights is absolutely fine, but the other is consistently flickering. I haven't had time to do anything about it, but just putting my experience out there as well. The inside Raxiom lights have been fine so far.

yes that's exactly what's happened. Flickering, then out for extended periods of time, then totally out

I have had them for 4-5 months now without issue. And I drive a lot. Like 11,000 miles on my car since I bought it new Oct 21st of 14. The way these lights mount, I can see how people would have issues with them if they are not seated properly. I'm not saying OP's problem is due to that but I would imagine half the people you hear about have this problem because they do not take the time to position these in the slot correctly. The entire lens assembly must go in perfectly or it doesn't seat properly. Just my .02

I had 2 sets of bulbs go out on me from AM; great customer service but a definite Quality issue with those, however my interior dome lights are still running strong..I just gave up and run with no bulbs on the rear anyways

well, the cops can obviously read the plate, but you know how cops can be... they don't like how your exhaust sounds or something and absolutely dig for a reason to pull you over... they can't get you for anything else, so bam, pulled you over for a light out and write you a ticket bc of "safety hazard."

I once got pulled over about ten years ago for this reason. One cop followed me a bit and then BAM a got pulled over and surrounded by 3 cops. They said they thought the car was stolen because people would break the lights and then steal the car. It was crazy, he was was wondering why I didn't notice them, duh because they are located on the back bumper and I don't see them. Good luck with getting your replacements though!

Flickering on Aftermarket LED's seems like a bigger reason to get pulled over than with no bulbs on +1

Reason why I keep the 2 stock bulbs in the dashboard with 1 LED that flickered. After a bunch of chat, and showing a concealed permit, its usually just a verbal warning.

Too bad about the lights. I just put LEDs in my license plate lights, trunk and map lights. All for under 15 bucks on Amazon. I was going to go the raxiom route but couldn't justify $30 for just two lights. I can't speak for the quality but they are bright as hell for sure. Definitely worth $14 I think.

Will said he was taking care of it 8 days ago and I haven't gotten a PM back in a week and no lights have shown up and no refund was credited to me. Gonna have to order a pair from late model I guess if he doesn't answer by Friday
