A first for me seeing this on a mustang.

On my way back from class, saw this fellow v6er. Wonder how much that mod set him back and if he's had any issues.

When does your carfax run out? I need to take mine in for scheduled maintenance, and wouldn't mind getting a carfax report after.

There's quite a few here who have done this to their stangs, just this Sunday I saw one and it also had lambo doors lol. There's also camaros and challengers that I have seen with sunroofs. I'm just like wtf?

Can't remember what my dealer said when I bought my car, 750 or 1250 for a sunroof. Tried to say it was cheaper than the 3000 for a vert

DiESeven you must live in Richmond VA... it looks you took that shot in front of the business school at VCU.

I saw that same car the other day. I thought it looked pretty good for a V6.

Sunroofs always have leak issues over time though, idk, just get a vert or roll the windows down IMO.

What's much worse... is that Challenger the guy has in the background in that ad. I've seen that car around town too and its a true abomination. It takes a lot to ruin the good looks of a challenger but that guy pulled it off. Its marked as an R/T too, but if that guy owns both it must be a V6.

DiESeven... can you post a pic of your car? I'll make sure to wave next time I see you.

And if you want to see some really interesting cars, come on out to Cars and Coffee in the west end sometime. We're having a meet this weekend. Here's the link to our site: Cars & Coffee Richmond, the largest informal mature gathering of car enthusiast and their cars in Richmond, VA

Here's me... you can't miss my car (its a Shelby knockoff/tribute..haha).

Ohhhhh, so you're the owner of that car. I'm sure you've seen my car plenty of times at C&CR. That Aventador was too damn sexy.

I actually tend to overlook the mustangs at C&CR (I usually get there late too). I'll keep an eye out going forward.

Sure was... and my detailer friend Joel just finished applying some super special coating called beads on it this week. So it should really pop this weekend if Terry brings it out again.

I'll see you around.

I think the glass roof option is pretty sweet, even though it's about $1250. As mentioned above though, the glass roof doesn't open, which kind of sucks because it is supposed to be a kind of convertible feel. If I had the funds to make my choice I would make it a T-top. It may be the worst of both worlds but there's just something about being able to have that open head room with the option of being a hard top I just love.

Ha, judging by your "ohhhhh" reaction, how many times have you seen his car and said "that's no gt350"? Lol

By the way, I could care less what someone else has made there car to look like. I don't drive it I don't care. I'm selfish, I only care what my car looks like.

Sunroofs do not effect this. In most cases it makes the car more rigid. If you pulled your headliner out you would find nothing but sheet metal and a support for that sheet metal and that support is only there to retain the shape of the roof and integrity of the sheet metal from flopping around while you drive or set anything more than 20 pounds in the center of the roof. The strength comes from the pillars and framing around the door, windshield, rear window and the inner structuring of the car. These cars had the option to have a glass roof, so they are already designed by ford to accommodate this.

Also read another person who said aftermarket sunroofs "Always" leak. Well my response to that would be that is common but not for the reasons you would think. Most aftermarket sunroofs are good quality, but are installed by people who have no business doing so. Often the job is rushed and each job is different yet they have to make it fit into a certain quoted labor box. This only makes them rush and cut corners as they find the inevitable issue here and there that costs time.

Secondly sunroofs are not a install and forget mod. They require maintenance. The seals need to be treated twice a year if not more to avoid the rubber from hardening and cracking. The drains need to be free and clear of debris. Most people don't realize that ALL sunroofs have drain tubes that run inside the car and out the bottom somewhere. So if it doesn't drain and the water has no where to go guess where it ends up? Your interior. Made worse by the neglected rubber seals.

I don't see an aftermarket sunroof as a problem as long as it's installed correctly and maintained by its owner. I just hate when things like this get a bad rap for all the wrong reasons.
