Thoughts on MMD tail light trim?

I think it's a little pricey for $140 but I think I'm going to get it. I think it will look good matching the white body with the blue racing stripes I have. Does anyone have pictures of these installed?

I love the look of these myself. I would say go for it. Although I don't have a pic for the color you want, here's some before/after pics of mine. Hope this helps.

I feel like ford did a good job blacking out the entire back panel... I don't think it looks bad with the MMD's, but it sort of makes the decklid panel stand out more IMO. Now if you had an RTR color matched decklid panel and you did these I think it would be more fitting. Just my .02

I like mine. Ford should have made them from the factory this way.

I'm thinking about getting these and doing them satin black because I plan on adding the Boss 302 diffuser and RTR license plate surround. I want to do the center trim satin black so it will match the RTR spoiler (if I ever find one) and satin black roof. But that's just a bit OCD getting all the black to match, lol.

Hey Chaz,

For me, these are 100% worth it! I absolutely love how they look.

I run the MMD Matte Black Tail Light Trim on my personal 2014 GT and could not be happier. Install is a breeze, and they look great!

Check them out here:

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions!

I really like how you did your tail lights with the matte black trim and then only darkening the red portion of the lens. I just wonder if someone rear ended a person with darkened lenses if it would be a battle as far as putting some of the blame on you. That might be one of the things that would steer me away from doing it.

I thought I might have an issue with that, so I went with the lighter shade. You can see the lights better then I thought. They had a full black out, but that was to dark. I am going to install a brake light pulser, just to add to the safety end of it.

Looks like American Muscle discontinued those pulsers. I find YouTube videos from AM and a couple competitors, but can't find the actual product for sale on their websites.

I got the matte black because of my theme so not painted. Painting anything is expensive usually so I tend to think MMD pricing for painted items is a good deal and definitely cheaper than getting it done. For what its worth fit and finish are great and I am Very pleased

I think it's the smoked, the other is black. I found the pulser on LMR, it's about the same price as AM.

For the people that have them, you haven't had any issues when washing the car? Since they are just on there with double stick tape.... I don't like the fact of having to "stick" anything on my car. I had lovers double stick taped and they flew off on the freeway, after that I glue everything on.

I've had my taillight trim on for about a year and my louvers on for 4 months. No issues at all with washing or on freeway for me. Holds up like a charm!!

Does the tail light trim trap water that keeps running out when trying to dry car?

Maybe a little bit but not bad IMO. No more than the side mirrors do. I dry mine on the bottom with a corner of a towel when done washing and it might drop water once after I pull my car in the garage I might do a quick dry if needed where it dripped then all is well. Hope this helps.
