On my 2013 the battery warning light came on a few times and went off. At first it was right after I started it but a couple of times it came on while I was driving. Each time it went off after about 10-15 seconds. I thought it was an indication the battery was going bad. I called the dealer and they said it would be under warranty and to bring it in. They found a bad alternator and overheated wiring between the alternator and battery. They replaced everything under warranty. The battery tested fine. So, if you have a similar situation, my suggestion is to inspect the wiring yourself, or have it checked for overheating. I'm not sure what would have eventually happened, but my suspicion is it probably wouldn't have ended well.
