So, the other morning I woke up to this...

$540 IF the hood can be repaired. If not, the hood alone is $1500-1600!

Eh, cheaper to just buy a fiberglass hood if it needs to be replaced.

Not sure how or where it happened. Definitely not a warranty issue. I thought about aftermarket but don't like any of the hoods. My insurance will cover all but the $250 deductible.

you don't like the cervinis hoods? they're so nice, and painted, they're like 1400.

Yep my hood was $1500.00 plus paint and labor. How's the bumper and grill?

The paint is "cracked" and will eventually peel.
It's funny cause the bumper and grill are untouched. I suppose that's a good thing though.
I haven't seen any hoods that I really liked and feel worth it to get that installed instead. I honestly really like the stock hood.

Well.. If you really want, I have a white 10-12 hood sitting in my garage. Drive up to VA and you can have it.

It's near the Charlottesville area. If you want it, you can seriously have it. Let me see if I have any pics of it on my computer. I'll edit this post with them if I find some. (It's at my gf's parents farm, aka why I can't go get fresh pics right now)

I think the black spots were actually dirt, but may also have been chipped paint. I'll be heading there next Saturday and can get better pics/details for you.

Google maps shows you 5 hours and 44 minutes away from me. I really appreciate the offer, but my insurance will pay all but the $250 deductible. They also said that my insurance premium would not increase. I think I would have more than $250 in yours once I pay gas and then cost to paint it.

Don't claim it on your insurance will only cause your rates to go up. Put it on a credit card and pay it off or pay in cash.

And if the payment doesn't increase they will likely drop you the next time you have a claim. After that all the other companies see you made a claim. I went through it with all state.

Well, either I use my insurance or it doesn't get fixed. I'm not in a good enough financial situation to do it any other way.

Don't worry, since it should be covered under comprehensive your rates will not go up just like your agent said.
