^^ that link takes me to a 3 year old post about a gas pedal not a bama tune review. Idk if you posted the wrong link or if it is just taking me to the wrong post

If you're tuning go 93. If you don't have 93 get 91. Not really gonna get a huge diff if using 87. My advice is get MPT with race shifts if you have an auto. Way more aggressive than the Bama tune and pulls so hard. Bama is good too, they just can't tune your shifts as aggressively and in my experience MPT's customer service and wait times blow Bama out of the water

Ive heard they do that sometimes...not sure why though. In a nut shell Grabber has a good point in his thread. Bama is a great base. it allows you to customize your car at your own pace and the tune revisions are free. I do however highly recommend DATA LOGGING once you get a solid chunk of mods done. It helps tremendously! CAI on its own (even with a tune) is pretty useless...a little bit of mid range power and such but nothing to get too excited over. The Data Logging really does help awaken the hidden potential of CAIs nicely.
If after Data Logging and you've completed your mods if the BAMA tune is still not what you're hopping to get or you feel more aggression is needed then by all mean get an MPT tune. Just be sure to send them your most recent Data Log!

The beginners Guide is in the 2011 V6 section at the very top of the forum cant miss it. good basic info for helping those interested in small bolt ons and general knowledge. For a young guy Voltwings is very knowledge able about the 3.7s, boost and cars in general.

About to pull the trigger on a bama tune. Will a CAI really make much of a difference, is it really worth it at all for roughly $300?

No...not really. It adds a "beefier" sound to the outside. It DOES NOT make the exhaust louder but rather you hear the engine growl from the intake. A datalog will help out a CAI as it will give you a better throttle response (usually quicker) and you might get a few HP throughout the power band but honestly id try to find something used for under $200. Or you can pick up something off Ebay for cheep.
