Oil leaks?

Anyone have any issues with their car having any oil leaks?

New car to us, and i smelt burning oil, like new oil, not old.

There is a different smell so yes i can tell lol.

But checked under neath the car and looks like maybe a rear main seal leak.. is this common

is the oil level going down? It may just be spilled oil burning off. I haven't seen any that I remember with seals gone....I trust it has a wtty (yeah, I know the hassle)

14 v6, and haven't seen any low, but do notice a drip coming down... Haven't smelled oil burning the last day of driving. So hopefully it was just residual.

Oil plug could be loose. You shouldn't be leaking oil in a '14.

Not coming from the drain plug, literally looks like in between the engine and trans. I will check again when I get home, and go from there. I have to take it in to the dealer to fix a seat issue, and get the rotors warrantied out. pulsating like a mother

Check the under tray. Its almost impossible the change the oil filter without dumping oil in that little "service panel," and that location will almost certainly burn any oil spilled there.

Not the tray either. The tray is farther up and more in front of the engine. This is literally right in between the trans and engine

Or, or, go to dealer because motor work is insane on your wallet.

Could be rear main seal leaking. A 14 would be under warranty.

Try another dealer. If i had a 2014 Mustang with an oil leak, i would't worry about it one bit. Your under warranty. My 2011 never went to the dealer i ordered and bought it from for warranty work (Just 3 times )

Bringing back an old thread, but wanted to throw in my experience. I also have a '14 manual with oil that was leaking from rear of the engine where the transmission hooks up. Took it to the dealership and they put dye in the oil and had me drive 200+ miles with it. It was the rear main seal and is actually being replaced tomorrow under warranty. It wasn't a lot of oil, but enough to make me concerned. Hopefully this resolves the issue.
