"Best way to get a V8 sound with a V6 is... SELL IT AND GET A V8!!!!!"

I get a lot of V6 muscle cars (that sounds weird to say), and the owners want to know how to get it to sound like a V8. As a automotive technician we do quiet a lot of exhaust work and my answer to them is "put a V8 in it or sell it and get a V8..."
Truth hurts sometimes...

The truth is the truth and that is the truth. Buy a darn V8 if one is looking for a V8 exhaust tone. A V6 ain't gonna sound like a V8. Just like a 4 banger ain't gonna sound like a 6 or 8 cylinder. Just like a V10 ain't gonna sound like a V8! Just like a V12 ain't gonna sound like a V10, V8, V6 or 4 banger.

Have a great day!

Well, I've heard a V8 with some special exhaust sound like a V8 V10 mix I guess you could call it V9?
Ah ah bad joke...

Can I make my V12 sound like a V8 + a 4 banger combined? Or does it not work that way? Or maybe 2 V6s together??

I agree, it sounds really great. I understand that a V6 would never ever sound like a V8, but the throatiness and deepness did remind me of a V8 sound. Like a couple members have said, most people could not differentiate a good sounding V6 from a V8 unless they were put side by side, or if you are experienced with these type of things.

Those really don't sound that good. Listen to vipers. Sounds like a super v6. The V8 has more growl to it. That's the main thing that made me settle for the 5.0 as opposed to a 2005 viper. That and the vipers ugly interior.
