Have you hopped under the car to take a look? That will answer your question.

You also heard incorrectly. The resonators are the same, the mufflers are apparently different.

An auto and manual with aftermarket mufflers will sound the same, all else equal (stock).

This, the mufflers on the autos are quieter and the tips they put on them are different as well.

If you look inside the tips of a stock auto, you'll see a smaller diameter pipe coming through. If you look inside the tips of a stock manual, you will not see an extra pipe coming through. I hope I'm explaining that correctly.

My friend has manual edition mufflers on his 2012 and they are slightly louder and look much better than the automatic mufflers

2013 Automatic resonators

Here are pics of the manual vs automatic mufflers. They definitely sound different.

On top of different design, the manual version is heavier than the automatic version.

In this pic the manual muffler is on the left:

I guess they figure the auto drivers want a quieter tone? That is weird for sure.

Yea that sucks, I have no idea why they decided to do that, it is no wonder everybody changes their exhaust as one of their first mods.

I wanna know where this bad info keeps coming from, because this is the 4th person I've seen that was told that the autos have different resonators than the manuals.

I think people are getting the resonators confused with mufflers.

There is no difference in the exhaust until the mufflers.

2013 Automatic resonators

The exhaust tip on the auto is welded so the pipe coming out of the exhaust acts as an additional resonator.
