Remote Starter?!

Any of yall install a remote starter or have plans too? What options do yall know of? Is there a way to use our factory remotes?

I haven't installed one but I think it would be a cool mod. I saw someone who installed the one in the link. It uses the stock remote. Here's one possible kit. https://fortin.ca/en/vehicles/ford/mustang/2013/

Not unless you have a monkey push the clutch in from inside the car everytime you hit the remote start button 😂

I know in some cases you can disable the clutch switch, but yes lol ... having to have the clutch depressed does put a damper on things.

I have a remote start on my old Buick and I love it. On a hot day I start it while walking out to it, by the time I get there the AC has it cooled down to bearable inside the car. I would love to have one on my Mustang.

I didn't install it but I have a Viper system that works on my 14 auto. It still retains the functions on the stock remote but since there's no button on our Stock one for remote start you still have to use the aftermarket one.

You can get a viper with a clutch bypass to get a remote starter on it

i put one in my first car an automatic though an it took me a few hours
My buddy put one in his manual honda civic when i did and problem is you cant have the car in gear when you leave it otherwise it will try to start the car in gear, i dont need to tell you how horrible that is lmao it makes me cringe thinking about it haha

He did leave it in gear once in a garage and someone hit his remote start button as a joke and it did jerk his car through the garage door idk how or what was up with his car, he did a lot of mods on it but i didnt think it could even move if you did that

So since that incident im too scared to do it to my car hahah i would like a remote start but i also leave my car in 1st with the ebrake on as i leave my car so id probably destroy my drivetrain lmao

I would stick with DEI products (Viper, etc) and yes, you can install on a manual. They have bypass switches that make you put the car in neutral before it will run. Unfortunately, you won't be able to use the factory key fob as far as I know.

And most of it is plug and plug from what I've read....pretty affordable to at $120 not bad if it works good....downside is it ships from CANADA! Adding about another $30 to get down here to Texas/:
