Used Al Dynotech Driveshaft Question

Hey guys,

I have the opportunity to pick up a used 4" Dynotech Driveshaft Aluminum One-Piece for $250. (link to product: Dynotech Mustang Driveshaft Aluminum One-Piece 4" V6 2011-2014 )

I wanted to know if anyone has bought a used Al One-Piece and if there is any harm in doing so? What should I look out for from the seller before sealing the deal? I feel like this is a great deal but whenever I find a great deal, I always ask myself... too good to be true? He says there are roughly 4,000 miles on it.

Any info on people's experiences with the Dynotech brand would also be great!

Here are the pics of what it looks like. Thanks for any input!

I'd say one thing to look for is any dents in the actual driveshaft. Other than that 4,000 miles isn't a lot and just ask why the original owner wants to sell it.

Lol you and vinnysantonie (I think that's his handle) have both posted about the same driveshaft listed on Craigslist. I saw it today too.

His thread's name is "Dynotech 4 aluminum driveshaft". I would post the link to his thread, but we all know links to other threads are a joke on this forum. It'll probably send you to a thread on gas pedals on a 2004 GT.

Hmmmmm...... The fact that his thread was posted 4 days ago and that I saw the ad as posted on the 3rd of May has to make me wonder why he hasn't already bought it.

No don't do it.

Nobody would sell this after 4000 miles. I suspect it came off a wrecked car.

A deal to good to believe is one to run away from.

As I said in the last post about this same DS. Ask the question, why sell it. It's not like he can replace it with a better one. I think another person in this thread hit it on the head; it's out of a salvage vehicle.

Went for it anyways. Got it installed and then drove ~50 miles and haven't had any issues so far. Haven't tried pushing the car yet because I am giving the loctite a day or two to settle.

I guess for $250, it's not that huge of a risk.

Congrats on the deal!

Yea, the guy said he traded in his 2013 v6 for a 2015 5.0 with performance package. After talking to him for a bit once I met up with him, it seemed like a pretty legit deal.

Yeah, I was tempted to pull the trigger on it when I saw it but just couldn't bring myself to do it.
