2013 Mustang v6 issue

Newer car only 40k miles.

Today, my cars TCS randomly turned itself off and on while i was driving. The car bucked a bit and started slowing down.

I managed to pull over and turned the car off. I turned it back on and was able to drive off normally.

No check engine light at all, and the issue hasnt come back since. Has anyone heard of an issue like this? Should i be worried about it?

Could you have hit a spot in the road that maybe caused the traction control to kick on?

I've never had it happen personally, but have seen posts in the past about it randomly happening and then never happening again.

This has happened 3 or 4 times on the wife's Flex. Haven't seen any oil or wet spots on the road but you never know. Hasn't happened on my Mustang yet.

I guess it's not a common thing, but it does happen. I've had it happen to me. The dealer admitted they get reports of it regularly across various models. There is no known fix.

Ive heard that its caused by the senser for AdvanceTrac getting dirty, or going bad.

I drive like a jerk sometimes and if the car slides or I hit a weird patch of busted up road mine flips on for a second or so.

I've had this happen to me twice, once when I drove on ice, and today when I hydroplaned for about 7 feet going 50 mph.

Yes it was a scary feeling lol

I only ever have mine on in wet conditions, so I've never really experienced this issue. I'm at about 21k miles.

Do you know what caused it? I took my car to ford, they couldnt find anything wrong. Hoping it doesnt happen again though.

Did it like brake hard for just a second? Mine has done that twice now, and I only have 8500 miles on it, but I have noticed it only does it, if I have both traction control and Advanced track turned off, while in sport mode.

Nah man it was more like the car was possessed. TCS turned off and on rapidly then kept slowing down. Didnt stop till i turned it off. But has not come back.

I've had mine act up (when it should NOT have come on) 1x for sure 1x maybe. I've seen a few threads on this and intermittent problems are a nightmare to find. I would guess random computer/sensor glitch.

Advance trac and i have a very antagonistic relationship. I always fully deactivate when I get in the car, and about 1 of every 3 autocross runs, it reactivates itself and tries to spin the car. About every other lap at a road course, it will reactivate. I have not had the slowing down issue, but a multi time national champion used to have a 2011 gt, which he got rid of because he would turn right, and it would sometimes take away 200 hp. He has never tried to rave nationally in a Ford product since, and did say that all of the 2011+ cars do some very weird things intermittently (some of us more regularly than others), and the 2015s are the same way.

The solution to my problem is going to be to swap my ABS module programming for the strategy from the 302S (factory vin-less race car, does not have advancetrac, or ice mode).

Proving to my fellow racers that the disdain that some GT drivers have for V6 drivers is unfounded, one results archive at a time since 2013.
