So you are saying, put on a bolt, have a beer, put on a bolt, stop for lunch, put on a bolt have another beer. Got it. That must be why the 16 year olds say it is really hard, they can't drink

Yep, it is almost time to give the 2000 V6 to the kids (got to put an economy tune on it first, I have an old Livewire tuner for it) and I wanted a newer one. Got a good deal and this is the best car I have ever owned.

I dont think the 20% off works on the bbk headers. I tried to use the AS20 code on their site and it knocked off 0$. Because i guess they are already on sale?

Shows these headers are already on sale at 10% off. Which is why they are 360. Because 10% of 400 is 40. 400-40=360.

Sorry to mislead you guys/girls.
I had bought mine awhile back with a different deal.
I was going to suggest calling them, as I recall they try to do their best for you.
Glad to hear mung made out ok.

Yeah, I am OK with that price. Now I need to pick up a factory gasket. I only want to put them on once.

Mung the bbk gasket it comes with wil be fine. Get it tight the first time and re tighten after 400 miles and check it at 1200 to be safe. I've been using bbk gaskets for 12 years and never had an issue. Asking as you check them at those intervals your going to be fine. After that I check them at every 10000 just to be safe but I've never had leaks. Imo your wasting money by replacing them.

Thanks. I guess I won't worry about it then. Car has 59K on it but the engine looks clean as the day it rolled off the line.

That just my opinion buddy. If your set on getting stock ones go for it. I personally wouldn't but I have several friends who hate after market gaskets. It's your ride so it's ultimately up to you I'm just sharing what I've done in the past and never had a problem. I typically hit any aftermarket part I put on every 10000 miles just to make me feel better lol. Never had anything loose but I'm always changing something on my cars so I figure while I'm here

If you haven't had a failure, I am good with that.

Is there anyway to inspect the headers for defects prior to install or do the only show up when they are being used? I mean I suppose I could seal up the ends somehow and put shop air in there to see if there are any leaks.

Never had a bbk leak like that. Only thing I do it's take a small rotary grinder and clean up the interior welds. Smooth them up and remove weld splatter. I did notice mine had a crater crack in the weld so I ground it out and fixed that aswell. I'm a weld inspector for a living so I'm picky lol. But I do the inside like a port and polish on the heads. I'm not sure if it really helps I just do it.

I used the BBK gasket it came with. It's been about 11 months and so far so good.

My wife just surprised me with bbk shorty ceramic headers she paid about 315 on Autoanything. Since she bought them, i didnt have a chance to contact AM for price matching. (Sorry Alex )But yall might be able to. Make sure to call/chat with them cuz their discount codes wont work on their site. In case anyone is looking for a good deal!

I've had BBK after market gasket in my first install. My ceramic header developed rust in less than a year so I took it out for a warranty claim. BBK gasket broken into pieces in some areas and other parts stick at the engine side some at the header. When I did my 2nd install, I bought an oem gasket. It was just $7 a piece and it seals well. Took the opprtunity to use bolt fastener as well with stopper so I don't have to retighten after several miles, kinda set and forget thing.

I just picked up an OEM set of header gaskets from Ford. With Shipping and taxes, came out to about $20.
