Photoshop Help

Hey guys and gals, I am inept at photoshop and haven't been able to find a picture of a silver Mustang with a black hood. I'm debating on whether or not to do it.

Could someone do me a huge favor and photoshop the hood of this car black so I can get an idea?

Also would like to hear some opinions on it.

Thanks!

I feel like black hoods/parts look primed like if you replaced it but couldn't afford to get it painted. Like those bumpers that don't match the car. Maybe it will look good though, you never know.

I'm by no means an expert but this should give you an idea.

I think if you're going to have the entire hood black, you should also do the roof black and have some other black accents around the car as well.

This, if you're doing the hood black you need to do the roof and maybe even the trunk black as well. Otherwise just a black hood seems like you went to a u-pull to replace a hood and couldnt afford to get it painted to match.

If anything get some vinyl stripes. I agree with Chaz.

Thats why I refuse to buy a Carbon Fiber Hood

Photoshop Help

Thanks stangshocked!

Yeah, I'm with you guys. It looks out of place without any other black accents. I want to get a GT hood but no one has one in silver. Only black, so is have to get it painted.

And jay, this one isn't mine lol. It was just a pic I found online.

A bit pricey but: 2013 2014 Mustang GT Hood Gray Boss V6 V8 GT500 2010 2014 Grey | eBay

Now I do know that hood has been up for months. You can try messaging the seller to try and haggle. I have done this with others on ebay. Saved myself $200 on the Premium door panels by doing this. Ask if they are flexible on the price.

I wouldn't bother with stock oem on a hood though since it'll most likely develop the bubbling.. why not just go aftermarket? they're not aluminum , so they won't have that issue.

My problem is I haven't found any aftermarket hoods that I like and I've also heard of people having fitment issues with some aftermarket ones. I really like the GT one better than any of the aftermarket ones I've seen to be honest.

I agree with this just get the hood, roof, and trunk wrapped with gloss black vinyl. It looks nice and once you get bored of it you can always take it off.

Yeah, after seeing the rendering I agree.

I'm really hoping I can find an ingot silver hood so I don't have to worry about getting it painted.

Is flush a deal breaker for you? You could see if a shop will hook you up like they did me.

Yeah, I'm kind of thinking entirely new hood because I've got the bubbling going on.

The Ford auto body shop is really dragging their feet on fixing my hood.

So I just searched Every states Craigslist and scoured Ebay for anything Mustang Hood and there are NO Ingot Silver GT 2013/14 hoods for sale besides that one for about $800 I posted earlier. However! I did find some sweet deals on other stuff for our cars:

Ford Mustang BBK Throttle Body. 2011-2014 (V6/3.7)

Mustang 2010-2014 New SR Lowering Springs/Panhard Bar/Camber Bolts

Bbk throttle body 73mm for 2011-2014 Ford Mustang v6

Ford Racing 3:73 gears. 8.8 mustang 79-14

That should also serve as proof I searched the entire US for your hood. lol.

You either got 2 choices. Try talking that guy down on ebay or get the vents cut into your hood after the bubbling is fixed ($300-$400). That, or keep your existing hood plain. lol.

Dude, you rock!!!!

For some reason ingot silver is impossible to find. I've seen a million in every other color though!

Those BBK Throttle bodies for 200-250 though!!!!!!!!!!

I would at least call around to some body shops. It may be better if you look up my old thread. I believe I left some details in there that may allow you to explain it better to the shops.

Getting Hood Vents installed

I might just do that. I'd definitely take it to a shop like you did though.

I do not have the balls to cut into my hood like that.

Me either man. All it takes is one accidental cut and you are redoing your hood or buying a new one. LOL. I explained to my shop about the semi-template under the heat blanket that shows where the GT Vents would have went. So they measured those vs. the vents I provided and they got it on point. They are held with 3M and black glue to seal around it. They won't be going anywhere.

I saw in your other thread that some water was getting on your filter.

Other than that have you had any other issues with water in the engine bay? I have the stock intake so I'll be fine with that.

Nope. No other water flaws. IF you wanted to do anything with your intake, keep the stock airbox and get an Airaid modular tube on AM for 100. Maybe get the K&N drop in filter and you got a good water proof CAI. I might move to this setup soon.
