It is always better to have two officers in this day & age.
This is City and County Police.

State Troopers are usually all alone and seem to be shot and killed for it. There are really not enough State police. At rare time they will call a county to back them up. They better have probable cause to do that though.

What needs to happen is they really need two officers in a patrol car at all times like they did years ago.

I agree!
As a matter of fact, I would actually prefer that they ride FOUR to a car! For both officer safety and fuel savings reasons!

I think your right, in some areas or in today's society there's always that possibility now.

Yeah but that means when three car loads pull up I'm getting beat by twelve of them....

Always respect law enforcement, If you're in the wrong, you're in the wrong. Say Sorry, and be a respectful person and you may get off

But the other side of that coin is that I expect the police to be professional and appropriate. There are those bad apples that like to antagonize people as part of a misguided power trip, and they are the problem.

Act like a professional and get respect keep your own in line. The old school cops all had a code they went by, this new era of cops dont. They are federally funded ego trips.

Those types right there ruin the few who maybe left who are honest and fair. I think someone who is twenty one doesn't have the life experience needed to make calls that can effect somones life forever. Wait till they are in their mid thirties.

I have had a very negative experience with my last encounter with law enforcement.

I got a ticket for speeding, owned up to it, went on my way. Other than that i get pulled over for shiity traffic violations. But when i show him or her that my insurance is legit and license is clean i walk. I just hate getting pulled over for trivial matters. I'm always polite but i wanna say "you know there's somebody getting stabbed or robbed right now while your stopping me for not using a blinker?"

I never had a problem with a Police Officer

I was a Harley Davidson Biker for a whole lot of years. I got profiled a lot with some of the newer cops that did not know me. They would stop me for really no reason but to see if I belonged to a club or was wanted. I did not really like it but I knew of some problems around my area and it was gonna happen. The cops were always polite and nice and after a while they knew just about everybody on a bike and a lot of problems went away.
Bucko probably remembers how bad the clubs were at shooting at each other and the biker killings. I was kind of happy to see the Police doing their job.

Police now a days have a really hard dangerous job, When they do stop you ( Of course You did Nothing) and they are just picking on you. All you have to do is be nice, Keep your mouth shut, Give what they ask for, and your usually free to get on your way. ( Unless you were doing something really stupid)
Ronnie

PS:::: Of course you can throw open the door and run like hell up the street.

A state trooper I know, we would both see this group of teens zooming on through our subdivision, he told me few weeks after this was progressing that he sent them a ticket in the mail. I thought it was hilarious but surprised. I never knew they could send them in the mail

Yes they can and yes they do

Some States have speed Cameras- Get ticket in the mail
Some States have Red Light Cameras - Get ticket in the Mail

It is not right, It is not how it is supposed to be in America, ( Guilty without proof) a Picture can be totally wrong under certain circumstances. If you try to dispute the ticket they can triple your fine. No actual Judge but a Magistrate type gestapo thug that gets paid out of your fine. YES, THEY GET A PERCENTAGE OF YOUR "FINE" Do you actually think you stand a chance????? I don't think so.
I know here in Florida if you get a lawyer $100.00 to go with you, the magistrate just dismisses the case, (Still costed you 100 bucks)
It is gonna get worse in the future so bend over America -This is gonna hurt !!!

Not a single country. Hmm. No one else cares enough for us to help out and yet we help them all out as needed this digging us more and more into a financial money bit of debt on the global scale.
We need to take care of ourself before others imo.

Considering I haven't seen him anywhere on social media for a month and that's also how long it's been since the extremely huge side show bust in LA. I'm sure it's safe to assume the law caught up with him.

Apparently he got caught up in one of those busts and tried to run. That's another thing, you can't outrun the radio no matter how fast you think your ride is...

If your on highway passing cop and he radios ahead to another cop, hey pull that guy over, and it's 2-5miles down the road and I'm not speeding anymore. don't they still have to prove you were speeding? They can't just say we saw your 15mins ago speeding. Can they?

And Timothy Mcvey was caught because of a "minor" traffic violation.
All criminals and wanted people travel in vehicles. Most are caught because they're discovered on minor traffic stops.
Know the job, actually man up and try the job yourself, then make comments like that. Yes other serious crimes are occurring while they have to educate you about safer driving.
I did it for 20 years. My wife got a speeding ticket a year ago from a local town cop. Did I call for a favor? Try to weasel out of it because I'm retired? Complain about it to friends, family and forums?
No, we paid it. Because....She did it.

I'm with you Waylap1

Just look at just about every single person that has been in the news lately. They run because they have warrants, They run because it is a stolen car, They run because they just robbed somebody,INNOCENT PEOPLE DO NOT RUN The stupid news media blow everything out of proportion to get everyone stirred up so they can have a sensational headline.
These thugs that get shot all have long criminal history's and the news media hardly ever mentions that.
***************************Then just think a little**********************************

A whole lot of the police officers in this country are shot (Some shot dead) on a stupid simple traffic stop.

Of course there are a few pricks in blue but 99% are excellent at what they do. I'm not a goody goody two shoes because I have been known to speed and drive stupid and have been pulled over for """SOMETIMES NOTHING""" to be checked out when I was riding my Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

You gotta respect a police officer because they are caught between the News Media , The Thugs, the people they work for and the upper level of the Police department that seemed to always be hired from some other state and have no idea of what the hell they are doing.

Just think what things would be like without any Police at all.
Ronnie

I have always taken the stance that I speed. so when I get caught for really doing something wrong, and it is usually speeding, I am always polite. It isnt there fault it is mone. Tickets are something I have grown to accept as part of being me. I try to minimize them. They way I have treated the officer has DEFINITELY benefited me overall.

Imagine catching your kid coming back in after sneaking out and them giving YOU an attitude... how would that affect your punishment?

Hey it's a forum and we are all here to learn. If you are getting grief in 1 thread, either have a drink and ignore it, or move to the next thread and let the party continue.

It's nearing the weekend, don't let 1 post ruin the flow!

Your post that included a name call caught by our profanity filter towards another member here was not seen as "respectful". As the above post mentions, let's initiate a group hug and move on. Weekend is almost here!

I think that we all realize that. So why not just have checkpoints where EVERYONE gets stopped, and we ALL have to show our "papers"?
It is a fine line between violating the constitution and "police work"... I've witnessed far too many LEO that are all too willing to cross that line.
As for traffic tickets, I don't know why your wife should be any different than anyone else. She deserves no special treatment, and for that matter, neither does any law enforcement officer... Retired or otherwise.
I look at tickets as "paying dues". They got me this time... But I flew right under their radar thousands of other times.

It pisses me off when I get pulled over and DON'T get a ticket!

Everytime I got pulled over I always seemed to get a 5 mins before seeing the lights. "Hey slow down, may be cop around the corner." Sure enough every time one showed up

Look at my signature.... lol

Decided against that radar detector since I am confused about it.... Paying for an app or update of some sort with that price tag... Might not happen for me....

EDIT: Looks like you just pay for updates which would most likely contain red light camera locations and similar....
