Hey-We do not argue

We discuss
It really don't matter what brand you get as long as you install it properly using the proper lines and fittings.
They all do the same job.

Just throwing it out there, I've got a JLT can that has been on the car for almost 11.5k now. The car has tunes from both Steeda and MPT, both tunes went through multiple revisions with each tuner. Never had a comment from either that they suspected a vacuum leak.

That being said, if I were buying a can today... it would be bob's all the way.

Perhaps it comes down to hit or miss QC at JLT, or just owner negligence since the fittings do screw into the can, at which point this should be more of a PSA thread:

Teflon your fittings, make sure they're tight, datalog idle to check for leaks etc...

Interesting info. Did ported manifold swap and noticed the passenger side was filthy with carbon. Driver side was not.

Now, I've had a catch can on from 65,000 miles up to 115,000 miles.

Just installed my JLT and drove about 700 miles. Found about 3 ml of oil.

Inspecting the can and components, it appears to be constructed well.

Lesson Learned

It came today and three separate rather strong adult males each over 220lbs, struggled to eventually unscrew the can, and when he did, the o-ring fell to the table in three pieces. It was well lubed, but looks like the machining is way too tight. Seems like a 1.25 ID ring stretched to the diameter of the top of the unit, making it thin enough to fit when screwing on the can. I visited two hardware stores and could only find some plumbing o rings which I doubt can handle the oil long term. The only ones that would fit are too thick and the can can't screw on all the way.

Anyone know the exact size of the original and where I can get it?

Also..to get a better grip on the top, when trying to unscrew it, I took both hoses off. Which side of the can top goes to the PCV side?? The Center tube? or the Outer. I imagine it's the center?? I hope I explained it so someone understands

Thanks
Lesson learned here. The can is great. UPR is not good to deal with. I called after my emails went unanswered. Guy on the phone then went and looked at my email and the images. Said he was sending a few orings so I had some spares. I got them last week, but didn't have time to do anything with them. Today I went to install on the can, and they are way too big. Seems they are o rings for a larger can. So after a month, I still have a broken oil catch can, and no local source for the o rings I shouldn't have to replace anyways.

I'll email them again, and call tomorrow but Jes** Ch***t, American Muscle would have made this good immediately. I am using the can and it does catch a lot of oil, but I shouldn't have to seal the top and bottom together with electrical tape.

The good news (depending on how you see it) is I am trading in my V6 for a new EcoBoost.
