Procharger

So I have a 2011 mustang v6.
Current mods include 4.10 gears, pype bomb axlebacks, steeda race intake, 93 custom tune.
And im wanting to get a procharger. Should i also look into getting a one piece aluminum driveshaft as well? Honestly i most likely wont be going to a track or drag strip its a daily driver i just love power. And would an offroad x pipe be too loud since i already have the pypes bombs?(no mufflers)

With 4.10 gears if you go procharged turbo nos etc any fi mods you'll want to change your gears out to say 3.55 or 3.31.
It will allow you to stay in gears longer thus giving you more bang for your buck. With 4.10s you'll be shifting constantly when doing a hard pull vs longer times in gears while pulling faster due to less shifts. A lot of 1/4 mile cars that have boost or nos run 3.31-3.55.

My last 1/4mile car was an 86 cutlass supreme with a built 383. I had the 9" rear end with the 3.31 equivalent gears. 383 stroker with boost was running low10s. With 4.10 I ran 11.3 consistently due to more shifts.

Mine was an auto unfortunately. quicker eta than a manual so that's why. I never got around to painting the car but for having factory paint it looked great. Here is a pic with my craggers on her. Click image for larger version

I wouldn't worry about a gear change unless that's what you want. The fastest procharged 3.7 was on 4.10's. A driveshaft would probably be a good idea as you'll inevitably find a straight in Mexico and want to stretch her legs. :-p

Chew on this...
A change in gears from 3.31 to 4.10 equals an increase in drive shaft speed of 24%.
So the set speed limit of approx. 112 mph would subject the drive shaft to an equivalent speed of 112 x 1.24 = 139 mph with the 4.10 gears.
(I used 3.31 gears as a basis since they were the highest ratio OEM gears provided.)

Thats good to know. Being that there is a video of someone blowing a shaft at 130.
If i get the procharger u will most likely order a one piece aluminum driveshaft at the same time. And have everything installed together just to stay safe. Though i dont really plan on going over 100

Drop to a 3.55 gear.
4.10s and any form of FI will result in no traction.
