Haha touché.

It's days like today where I'm really looking forward to getting the remote start. It would be nice to get the car cooled down before I get in.

Still showing that I should get it sometime between Friday and Wednesday.

Unfortunately I'll be traveling Friday-Monday.

Sorry guys I haven't done the write up yet! Weathers been raining off and on over here..but yes you need 2 keys! I believe Walmart can make you one! If not maybe some local locksmiths might have the equipment to make them work? Anyways yes mine is the same way it works better with my other remote, I think it may have to do with the battery life? But the honk isn't that loud anyways...I'm used to it...I listen for it now to make sure it went through 3 times lol, ALSO yes the wires you tap into are labeled in the instructions, and they wires you connect to them are labeled to show u what color they are!

Do you have to actually put your key in the ignition and crank it back up once you're in your car or can you simply put the key in the ignition and turn it to the "on" position and then take off?

In my other cars that have remote start from the factory, you just turn the key to the on position. No need to turn it to crank.

But you can't program it if you only have 1 key. The PATS system requires 2 working keys to program another key.

And for the person who askedm it prevents a valet from copying your key for one reason. And for the remote start you are essentially programming a third key as far as PATS knows.

You have to turn it to the ON position that's it, if you try to drive off without it it'll turn off the engine when you apply the brake, scared the **** outta me the first time it happened lmao

You have to put your key in the ignition before you touch the brake or it will turn the car off.

Sweet! Does it copy the first one basically making it show up as the same or will it show up as a separate key that can be used as a new admin key. I have mykey on with one key so thats why I am asking.

Mine was just shipped out today. It's estimated to be here next Wednesday.

Definitely not the fastest shipper I've ever dealt with...

It could be worse! I waited almost a week one time only to be told they were out of stock! *cough, hood vents, cough*

Range increases by heads due to people having metal fillings in their teeth. Sort of an antenna if you will

I had to know the reasoning as to why holding the key to your head extends the range. Apparently others have discovered this before me.

In short, it is because of the water in your body.

If you're a nerd like I am and need to know more, you can check out this video that explains it more.

kinda off topic.

For those that only have two keys (or less) I suggest making a 3rd because you need two to make anymore unless you pay the dealer for it. Do it yourself before one gets lost.

GOOD NEWS : It is installed and working like a charm.

BAD NEWS: I started to take pictures but it was way too dark. When I had the flash on, it would be too blurry sometimes and when it was off it was too dark. So I just stopped taking pics.

I'd say install is about a 7.5 on the difficulty scale. I needed to modify one of the wire taps because it didn't fit properly, but otherwise it was pretty straight forward.

I highly recommend watching the video.

Every time I do something like this I always have a moment where I'm like "wtf am I doing". This time I decided to take a pic of the moment.

Haha I noticed this too, but it only looks that way in the pic.

In the pic it looks navy blue. Weird.

It took me about 45 minutes from the first screw out to the last screw in, and I really took my time. This also includes me having to modify the wire tap because it wasn't clipping in properly.

I didn't. I needed the flashlight on my phone lol.

I wish there were a way to disable the chirp from clicking lock 3 times. That's my single gripe about the remote start.
