Opinions on racing stripes

I'm planning on adding some racing stripes shortly, I'm wanting to do dual 10" stripes in either grabber blue or matte black. My only problem is that I have a grey rocker stripe which I love! Would it look weird to leave it on or should I just go ahead and remove the rocker stripe when I have the racing stripes installed so that it all balances out?

Here's a pic of the rocker stripe. Click image for larger version

I would remove it and replace it with whatever color you go with.

Would I be able to get that exact stripe in another color though?

You can have a sign shop make the stripes for you. Along with the mustang stripe on the side. It shouldn't be hard to do if they know what they're doing.

I have a black 2014 and just had dual 10 inch installed in metallic gunmetal grey. Matt black would have been nearly invisible. Originally liked grabber blue but decided I might have got sick of it too soon and it's a bit more boy racer. The metallic gun metal is just dark enough and just light enough and has some class but adds a mean look. Uploading a pic in a few mins.

Hard to see UT it's got a nice metal flake in it. The shop used a 3M 1080 VINYL.

I would loose the rocker stripe......that being said removing it was one of the first "mods" I did. What I'll suggest is get your new stripes then decide if you still like the lower one. It's easy-peasy to remove not so to put it on.

I saw a Deep Impact Blue 2013 yesterday with white rocker stripes that said Dallas Cowboys

I wasn't able to grab a pic because I was in a hurry. But it was definitely unique.

I would go with some sort of darker gray. Mine was repainted the Tungsten Gray Metallic and I went with the black stripe. I should have done two stripes down the car instead of the one and may end up still doing it. I have the same smaller 4" black in same style for the rocker panels I just haven't put on yet

My GT is red and I was going to put Cobra GT 500 Striped on it and all along I thought I would go with black stripes but I got to noticing how many cars had black stripes. It was totally not me but on impulse I used Silver Stripes and during the week my Brother worked in the mornings I realized in profile you couldn't see the stripes on the hood, roof and trunk so I decided to put matching rocker stripes and it turned out beautifully. I will try to post some before and after stripes were installed pictures. Unbeknownst to me when I went from an I-Phone four to a six the new phone started shedding in groups some on the Unreplaceable 400 pictures that were left in my I-Phone Four left after I deleted almost 500 pictures.
There not there sorry I have got to go to another good location and take some new photos but my before pictures as we say here in Georgia are Gone With The Wind.

How do rocker stripes scream V6? Also, matte black looks more aggressive than gloss.

It might be a V6 under the hood, but it has the determination of a GT500?

Tough one and at the end of the day it's your car - Mod it how "you" see fit! We have a slew of options here if you'd like an unbiased opinion on them but I think Matte Black would look pretty trick.

Lol, was making a reference of how someone mentioned rocker stripes scream V6, but the all mighty GT500 has them. I say stipe it how you want, my only beef is someone badging it something it isn't. I've seen older 6ers paste cobras on the quarter panel and on the grill, that angers the Mustang Gods.

Other than that go nuts.

Not my cup of tea, but it looks like a really nice piece. So is it for publicity or for sale or what? And "we," are you a part of a performance shop?

Don't see where rocker stripes says V6 anymore than Matte Black says RatRodish Stang!

Opinions on racing stripes

It's all real I have built the car just after my Son had passed and just the way he wanted it to look like. He picked up where I was leaving off and after he passed I needed to continue, it's a multiple sponsored car and many custom parts. You can listen to it on you tube, type sick mustang burnout Then look for it the car can really take some abuse. I made a promises to him I will help those reach there goal and help find what they need at a good price and I've been doing that for the past 5 years
