Yea just the 93R tune for me. If i can get 2-3 rwhp and 5-7 lbs of torque for $70, then i am all for it.

I really haven't looked at MPT's different offerings tune wise. I used to run a Bama 91 hybrid tune and their 87 street tune along with their 93 race tune, but now, at least in Bama's case they are all race tunes if I'm not mistaken and that's what I've been running for a couple of years now. Does Mpt offer different tunes or are they just all race tunes, and what do you suggest?

My wife asked me what I'd like for Father's day, I'm thinking trying an Mpt tune, but my Bama tunes have been good to me, no CEL, knock on wood, or any other problems in the two plus years of running them, but i want a little more and so many suggest mpt.

Yea. Someone even proved it on a thread on here. Even if its only a couple more ponies and 3-5 lbs of torque, that is still great for $70. I have spent more for less! Lol (cough cough, throttle body)

They offer different types but I think that's just the shifts on the autos. There is no point other than getting a race tune from them because they charge $70 for one tune. If your paying $70 for a tune you want the one that gives you the most bang for your buck

Your right, being a manual I'll just go for the race tune. Thanks!

I am just hoping Alex will be on here tomorrow and can work me a better refund then $97 for the failed gear kit. Since i have to replace the entire thing. I can live with the labor, but bad parts....no.

Wow man, I just got caught up on this thread.

I'm really sorry to hear the BS you're going through with this. The howling won't get better over time. It's just going to get worse.

If it howls it won't do any damage I believe. This is what my shop told me but not sure how accurate it is but the sound will amplify over time.

The more i read on this the more i see it almost the norm between 50 -60 mph. I put my windows up and the radio off on way in this morning and i can also hear a slight howl. Thanks a lot guys lol. Jk jk.
I'm sure if i didn't have roush I'd hear it even more.

Yea the howl from what the shop told me, could be either failed pinion bearing, or pinion load set wrong. He is leaning more towards bad bearing since he has seen this more with the Motive kit. He said he sets all of the gears he does to 20 for the pinion load and I am the first to bring up howling. So we will see...

just from reading it seems the 3.73's are apt to make noise even from the factory.....it don't help you but warning to others.

good luck (I still want to try these!)

Thanks. It just doesn't seem right to be honest. And now I can hear the howl from 40-60mph. So it is getting worse. I tried different gears, seems if the RPMs are high in a lower gear, it makes less of a howl, but if I am in 4th-6th, it gets progressively louder as the gear rises and the RPMs drop at the given speed range.

I PM'd Alex from AM again. Hope I can get a response today. Because I never heard back yesterday.

Steeda did a great job on mine.... out the door was about $650, including everything and tax.
Glad to hear it!

Best of luck with the gears ... I am sure you will get them dialed in.

Best Regards,

TJ

Strange is right because a lot of coyotes have this problem that come with 3.73s from factory. The 3.31s on the other hand you almost never hear of this from factory.

I should have never messed with the gears. Looking back, 3.31 wasn't too bad. But the crazy person in me wanted to take it 1 step further.

3.73s were the best addition I could have made. Installed correctly, they're great!

Yea. And also go with a good quality gear kit. The gears themselves were ok upon install. But I was told by 2 shops now I now need to repurchase new gears because if the bearings are bad, it could start a bad wear pattern.

Still waiting for someone from AM to chime in.

When I decided to go with the 3.73s, Steeda was going to be my only choice. Fortunately, Steeda is located near by. Good luck.

But you aren't in TX. And your location in Austin wanted to charge me over $1,100.

I honestly don't know how many times I have to tell you......

the warranty is optional, it would be around 850 for gears installed with master kit....

If I could have bought a warranty the first time around on this, trust me, I would have. So to me, it isn't optional if I don't have to come out of pocket multiple times for 500-800 a pop.

the warranty in reality is only 100dollars, not 300. it's 10% of total cost.,

What type of warranty did you get from Steeda? Was it part of the quoted price or optional?

Hmm, wonder why they said $300 then. Maybe location determines price?

Yea I appreciate it. I hope someone from AM pops in soon. I would rather talk with Alex then speaking with a random customer service rep. Because that got nowhere.
