Thank you very much for the information!

How does a group buy work? Do we need to get a commitment from each of us first? Or you are saying that Jason will sell it to us on an individual basis?

It sounded like the last group was 6 people, I think we need to pick which driveshaft brand we want then find a company and see how many are required to get a group discount from them. If everyone interested wants to put their top 3 choices.
Mine 1. DSS 2. Dynotech 3. Shaftmasters

Shaft master doesn't make a 3.5" aluminum DS for the 2011-2014 v6. I was wanting one and called them already. I ended up getting a 3.5" dynotech DS from CJ pony parts.

Your axle exchange shaft is around 21 lbs, which is the same as the DSS aluminum as well. The stock v6 shaft is only 29 lbs. Our stock shaft doesn't have the weight the 5.0 has with its carrier bearing in the center.

So I called there this morning, Jason wasn't available, but the guy I talked to said he would do $680 each which includes shipping. If he had at least 4 people would knock off an extra $5. He currently has 3 in Stock and said anymore would be a 4 week wait.

Thank you for taking action, BlackOut3.7.

I find the $5 insulting. Are we really that cheap?

I think the previous group get $650. Should we wait until Jason is back?

How is 680 insulting? They're $760 normally. That's a great deal. We got 650 because there was 15 of us.

Price is for the 3.5 from DSS. This guy I talked to said Jason was in Virginia until this afternoon so, it would probably be a good idea for us to wait and talk with Jason about the price . I work this afternoon, but here is the number if someone else could give them a ring 7343065231. Maybe mention the price the group from last month got and see if they can do us a better deal.

I think AM has a driveshaft for 680-690 right now. Probably not the one yall got. But with the AM code, that will drop it to 650-660. So worth looking today as it is the last day of their August sale.

If you want to pay less than 680, just buy the 4" axle exchange unit from AM which is on sale for 648 with the 6% off from the forum discount. Or you can get the 3.5" dynotech from cjpp for 658 with 5% coupon code.

Just go with AM and the Axle Exchange one piece. Its great quality and will hold steady at 140 plus. Fast shipping from AM and done baby. Right to your doorstep made easy peasey. $648 is killer for the Axle Exchange one.

Non 🍼and non 🌽fed. I $uck!

So bad they only make a 4 inch ds. Bigger diameter means greater rotational mass. I also appreciate the extra clearance for the 3.5" ones. The 4" ds may be necessary for the GT, but I don't see the need for a V6.

I'm interested in the Dynotech as well.

Yeah, I have no idea what size the Axle exchange one is. I know its lighter and way stronger than the factory two piece crap. I don't track race so I personally don't care about having a 3.5 or 4 inch. Really happy with the Axle Exchange one but if one wants the 3.5, rock out.

It's funny the shaft masters are 3.5" for the gt and 4" for the v6.

And then they will probably be on sale again for September because it always seems like the things that go on the monthly sales never change.

Yup. So peeps, don't overextend your bank account if you don't want to. It is just a driveshaft. Unless you plan on exceeding 110 very soon. lol

^ And Labor Day is just around the corner, so there may be some deals to be had. Stack on a forum discount, and you should be in good shape.

Although we had to wait with the old group buy, $650 was a steal.

better then steel? LOL!!! bad joke I know...

Plus the September sale is right around the corner on top of Labor Day. So....

But yea, most of the stuff that goes on sale is SR Performance stuff, MMD, AM rims, etc.

Yea other tid bits find its way on there like the MCA grilles and such but no way I will spend $600-$700 on grilles.

AM lady was not very helpful on the phone supplying information for this driveshaft. http://www.americanmuscle.com/alumin...v6-manual.html

But could anyone tell me what the critical point would be for this one? I live close to an airstrip and was curious to see what my car could do in the standing 1/2 to 1 mile. Would it be safe at 140-150 in top gear?

Well above any speed your v6 will hit unless you have some crazy gearing in there like greater than 4.30s.

Tires for very important. I've seen on YouTube of some blowing at 200+ I couldn't imagine how scary it would be...
